Re: Chessington - The Future

I loved both Bubbleworks and a HPH, but credit where it’s due, whilst I don’t like the invasion of IP’s constantly at Merlin parks, I have to say that they did a pretty good job of the Gruffalo and therefore if this new attraction is matching then I’m sure it will be good quality. Both are incredibl...

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019

That's absolutely true. Hopefully though this all puts an end to the CCL saga and we can look towards a new area next year to complement the Dungeon. They wouldn't have added a Dungeon if they didn't have a phase 2 with the surrounding area. This is Merlin we are talking about here.... Anything is ...

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019

I also agree. Initially I was very much against the whole idea of paying for entry to The Dunegons attraction, however on reflection I think if they get it right, it is like you paying to enhance your experience, similar to paying for HBL, Golf etc, all of which are elements to enhance your time at ...

Re: Chessington - General Discussion

Well there is some very useful free marketing about Gruffalo, with thw launch of a 50p coin that was launched especially for 20 years of the Gruffalo. It seems to be proving extremely popular!! Very useful for Chessington with the Gruffalo IP and of course the Room on the broom coming this year!

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

The Merlin marketing team have gone into damage limitation mode. Or not... :lol https://i.imgur.com/UYzFhC3.jpg Source Well that's really bad isn't it! Yes it's true, but even if they were trying to make a joke out of it, that creates a seriously bad image of TP and also if ATR are happy to damage ...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

Well I'm not 'HYPD'....for it! I know they did Playstation weekend things many years ago, so perhaps this is something equivalent to that? It is disappointing though, as unless you are into gaming (Which I am not) it really doesn't do much to appeal to a wider audience. It sounds like they are pulli...

Re: Chessington - Quick Questions

I am trying to find the music from the Safari/Azteca Hotel lobby, Zafari Bar & Grill and conference areas. It is a compilation of various different tracks of African music. I am presuming that as they have been playing even when it was a Holiday Inn they are most likely trans available to downlo...

Re: The Haunted House Monster Party! - New for 2019

Very exciting addition and sounds like could be really well-suited to some of their older visitors, with LLWR going for the younger market obviously, it will be nice to see them cater for some of their slightly older visitors too, a great addition alongside rides like Vikings' River Splash and The D...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

Strangely when you compare it to other Euro fighters like Saw at TP, Smiler has aged very quickly and very badly. Saw does not have the same sensations as Smiler now does in terms of roughness, which is odd. Yes for sure Saw can be rough, but Smiler gives a constant vibration through the floor, righ...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

I guess they don't have much to be shouting about! There hasn't been anything new for a while, and as nothing seems to have been announced regarding 2019, perhaps this is mostly publicity for all the new things coming for the season of which it looks like Thorpe isn't included in, with the exception...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - The Future

it would be an incredible addition to TP if they were to add a Rollercoaster Restaurant, although, I think this would be better suited in a busier area of the park, or closer to the on-site hotel (when that opens!)

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

In my view, The Smiler soundtrack is the worst thing to have ever come out of a theme park speaker system. To me it's like dragging finger nails down a chalk board. Except that sound finally stops when you reach the bottom of the board. The Smiler's soundtrack just goes on and on, and on, and on......

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

Hmm, well maybe the website has been prepped for the 2019 build up, starting this week then? Potentially so! Maybe I saw something I wasn't supposed to have seen on a test or something! Well whatever happens hopefully with the 40th Birthday and of course the hints from TP social media on the TP Ran...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - The Future

To me it feels that the whole section of the park running from IAC, including what was Sticky Sisters (Assuming this has been removed after 1 season), Old town, rocky, slammer and of course Loggers has been neglected for some time. Many rumours have circulated regarding the redevelopment of the whol...

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

I also noticed something in addition. The TP website text showing on the home page tab was showing "THORPE PARK Resort New for 2019!" on Friday, but with no sign of anything new, however as of yesterday evening and at present it has changed now says THORPE PARK Resort An Island Like No Oth...

Re: Chessington - General Discussion

With Room on the Broom, I think we are on to a safe IP.  We can see what they have done with Gruffalo and Shrek, so it will hopefully it will be a quality experience.  We should know more on the preview day, so watch this space :) Completely agree, credit where credit is due, they actually did a pr...
