Re: Climate Change

I think that you're on the right lines with your British Holiday theory. I think that UK attractions in general may well do better over the next few years due to people not being able to afford holidays abroad so much and so taking advantage of their more local attractions. So I'm not too worried fo...

Re: Marketing 2009

I got immensely bored and so decided to have a go at a sort of theme myself. It might be a bit 90s and maybe doesn't quite fit the park's more modern image but I think it came out well.

Wait, does this mean that the Iberia section has gone? I'd heard rumours about it but I didn't think they would actually take it out. If they have, that would be a huge shame as it was by far the best themed area of the park. I agree with you completely about the park, it has all of the makings of a...

I can't believe that Kong's gone. Being terrified by that section of the tram tour is one of my earliest memories. A great piece of cinematic history destroyed. And the Back to the Future set as well. It seems ironic that this should happen so soon after the closure of the ride. Oh right, I thought ...

I'm pretty sure that those trim brakes were only put in as a precaution in case it ran faster than it was designed to. As far as I know, they've never been used so no, it couldn't go faster. I personally like Air. I think that it offers a different experience to any other coaster out there and is th...

Wow looks deserted. I don't think I've ever been in a park that quiet.

Is Boardwalk Bullet as brutal as people say it is?

When I first heard about this I didn't believe it. 6ft? They've just killed off half of the target market. It's really a shame as I saw it almost ready about a week ago and it looked really good. To me the solution seems pretty simple; either shorten the railings or lower the floor further. If it's ...

That does look truly amazing. It seems that 2008 is the year of well themed family/kiddie areas. The amount of effort that has gone into this project is huge. I hope that Drayton continues to put this much effort into future areas and attractions. I used to love Thomas, and I'm glad that he's still ...

I think that we've reached a point where people are simply picking holes for the sake of it. From what I've seen, Alton have done everything pretty much perfectly. I honestly can't think of how they could have carried out the project much better. Why should this be a "dark" area? It's desi...

It depends what your definition of resort is. If it's a Butlin's style resort you're looking for, Flamingoland is more than worthy of the title as its caravan park is absolutely huge and they have plenty of on site facilities and attractions. However, if you're thinking international standard theme ...

The squares are gone! I absolutely love the new map, it's by no means the best map ever but it's much, much more exiting-looking that the previous one. It seems that Merlin is really turning the park around. I love the way that they have Ripsaw and Ug Swinger hanging over the side of the valley and ...

Why do you need a lift? Just get the bus, I thought the 840 takes you there because if I go, thats how I'm getting there. If you wanted, could meet you at York? Just to warn you; from past experience, on the winter timetable, the 840 doesn't stop at Flamingoland. It only does so as of April. They m...

Diggerland!

I'd heard about this place before but never really thought much of it. It sounded like a place where they have a couple of mini JCBs and a sandpit. And it sort of was........apart from on an absolutely epic scale. It is basically what JCB World at AA should have been. I went today and all I can say ...

I can't believe that no one's been talking about this - easily the most exiting European project of 2008. This thing looks like an absolute airtime machine. You can find a load of new photos here . The layout is now complete and the trains are on the track. I love the look of that last flick onto th...

I love the way that they chose to talk so much about leaving their competition in the dust when in reality, Schwarzkopf was always leagues ahead of them. I always think it's hilarious when I see a tiny arrow loop at the top of a 100 ft slope. It's as if they thought, "Wow! calculating that loop...

I'm going to stick my neck out here. I don't like it. I don't think it would do the admissions area any favours whatsoever. I think that it would detract from The Towers themselves, and it's too in the way to allow you to see them. It also closes the park off from the rest of the plaza. The way TS ...
