It most certainly is. I'm not sure how it's possible for moving water to be that green but somehow it is. I mean, you can even see it in the waterfalls!

Lost River ride, well a few weeks ago at least. Normally not too wet at all, but the resevoir must have been very full or something on my last visit as we got absolutely drenched. Probably why the front row was closed off that day. There wasn't a dry patch on us. None of my clothes dried fully for t...

No, deffinitely not. On the public front, it was something really new. There had never been anything like it ever before. Forget the inverted concept, just a custom steel looper was simply unheard of on our shores before 1994. The advertising campaign made sure that people knew about it and it becam...

The real reason was that in hot summer day’s oblivions black paint was absorbing so much heat that the track was expanding by quite an amount. I've heard this before and have always wondered why it doesn't seem to affect other black B&Ms such as Silverstar, Black Mamba and about half the Batman...

There are a few walkthroughs with that particular effect on UK Travelling fairs. There's also one that's simular to that but with a guy hanging from a gallows instead

They're there so that the train doesn't crash into the train behind it in case of a rollback. Can you imagine the damage it could do on a ride like Stealth if those brakes weren't there? The station brakes certainly wouldn't stop the train by themselves and even if they could, it wouldn't be very co...

They go down so that the train can be launched without being stopped by the brakes. Once the train has passed over them, they pop back up again

I think that he's refering to the wooden board that they bolt onto the front of the train when doing a pull-through.

I'm not entirely sure if any other company other than Intamin actually do pull-throughs, but that's what it sounds like to me

Saying that mascots are an immitation of Disney is probably true but seeing as all theme parks in the world are essentially an immitation of Disney, I don't think that it matters all that much. It's not unusual to see mascots in parks now and I must say that apart from Euromaus, I have never once ma...

Black Hole, Dynamo and Toyland Tours Black Hole, although I only got to ride it once, has had a lasting impression. It was my first major coaster and still one of the most intense rides I've ever had. Much more of a "classic" ride than Corkscrew and is sadly missed. Dynamo was an example o...

A little further down the valley, maybe. Over the gardens, it would just ruin the view as if you were to have too many things crossing the gardens like that, it would just look a mess and ruin a beautiful view. Then there's also the fact that Vertigo is quite possibly the ugliest coaster ever create...

As a resort, EP is in my eyes, perfect. As a park, it has plenty of potential and needs more. That's the problem, I had heard from many sources that Europa (as in the park) was better than Disney so I walked through the gates with DLRP as a benchmark. Park wise, it was nowhere near Disney standard ...

That herse is totally pimped! Awesome! I like the idea of the characters. It'll give it a sort of family yet halloween-ish atmosphere around the park whilst things like TOTT and the corn field won't be watered down as they're advertised as being for older park guests. The fact that they have a very ...

Problem is, CGI's have a tendency to get rough in about 5-10 years - Thorpe already have the juddering Colossus. I thought that that was generally just because the older coasters tend to use the PCT Trains such as Gwazi, from what I understand GCIs running Millenium Flyers tend to stay smooth. GCI ...

The reason that Vekoma's coasters are so rough isn't due to how close the wheels hug the rails, that shouldn't matter too much, it's due to the fact that they haven't put a lateral pivot on each set of rolling gear so the car shakes left and right as the axels adjust themselves. It's hard to describ...

I am glad you overall enjoyed your visit. However, if somewhere like Europa Park doesn't live up to expectation, then it's a shame. The park in my eyes is one of the best worldwide. I would be prepared to accept that Florida is probably better, and there are of course some much better coaster parks...

Part Two - Europa Park Okay, I'll start off by saying that Europa Park wasn't quite as good as I was expecting it to be, it's certainly not better than DLRP and although the theming is rediculously detailed in many places, the overall look isn't as good as other parks I've been to. It probably doesn...

Trip Report: Holiday Park / Europa Park

The sole aim of my trip to Germany was to visit Europa Park so I didn't expect to be visiting Holiday Park at all. It was only when I discovered how close it was to our hotel that I managed to persuade my family to go. The park is quite difficult to find as it's well of the beaten track and unlike A...

Practically all of the major rides at Terra Mitica Magnus Colossus looks beautiful but jackhammers like crazy and crawls along for the majority of the layout, the Mondial Supernova there is about as intense as a Rockin' Tug and Tizona is your typical SLC; rough and er.. rough. There was also an abso...
