Re: 2012: Nemesis Sub-Terra... Part 2

I've had a brainwave (admittedly mini one!) ... I think the drop towers will have flooring attached to them that fall WITH the riders as they drop. That'll explain the floor recesses in the first picture posted on Twitter and also sorts out the top loading technicalities. OH! and will also obscure t...

Re: 2012: Nemesis Sub-Terra... Part 2

I remember queueing up for hours when Hex first opened. The theming in the queue made this more bearable, but I'm assuming Sub-Terra won't have this :(

Re: 2012: Nemesis Sub-Terra... Part 2

Thinking about seats and restraints... I'm hoping that that they will be over the shoulder restraints. I'd even go as far as saying I want the ride to hold your wrists down as well as your ankles. If this is a 4D ride, the feeling of being completely restrained while something menacing is in front o...

can anybody make out what the long black steel piece is on the right hand pit if looking at the photo??

In front of the ride parts is a shadow and behind is what looks like a painted black line.

Unless you mean something else  :?

Re: 2012: Nemesis Sub-Terra... Part 2

Is it just me, or is the pit for the further tower in that picture much narrower (left to right) than the pit for the tower on the right? If you mean the pit under the logo then yes it looks wider and i don't think its a perspective thing. It has more space behind the ride than the others do. I bet...

Re: 2012: Nemesis Sub-Terra... Part 2

Unexpected: Unless my eyes deceive me are we at the bottom of the pit! Now this is interesting as there is very clearly only 1 small door when there should be 2 in shot. Does this confirm loading at the top? Is that door only for evacuation purposes and the others (which we know exist on the plan) ...

It's also not what we were expecting... So much for the theory we all came up with on Saturday!!

Speak for yourself!

4 towers round the edge with an animatronic egg in the middle is what I've been expecting all along.

Re: 2012: Nemesis Sub-Terra... Part 2

I LOVE that this ride is still a complete mystery and looks like it will be until opening day.

The fact we're still flummoxed even though we've seen the interior plans, the ride theme and now parts of the ride itself is sheer brillance!

I agree - they seem quite short.

So maybe they *are* for the pre-show lifts after all  :?

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

It is unlike me to miss something, and I have read several transcripts mentioning 'World First', but what is the origin of this transcript?  I am not dismissing it or trying to be a troll, god knows I have been on this forum far too long for that, I just want to know if this has been described...

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

I can see something inside being a first or at the very least, a new ride car type. This is how I think a vertical launch would work and kinda how Wicked works: http://youtu.be/db8XrscEXok I think you're completely missing the point some people are trying to make here. A true world first would be i...

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GJEFONSaPo Although the launch starts at the lift base, it continues the launch up the vertical section thus making it a vertical launched coaster. Are you sure? It looks like the launch stops short of the incline and those fins on the vertical part of the track are ...

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

I thought there was no such thing as a vertical launch.

There's been launches into vertical sections of track, but never a launch vertically from a standstill.

My money's still on world's first true vertical launch.

Fits in so well next to Oblivion.

I'd disagree. This close to the park opening, they'd have most of the marketing material sorted.

When the first posters for Thirteen were released they had an accurate portrayal of the ride car.

Is it just me, or do the back of the seats look like some form of robotic arm?!

Re: 2012: Nemesis Sub-Terra... Part 2

The image looks good, but I can't help but feel that this attraction is going to rely an unbelievable amount on how good the themeing and 4d stuff is. And that is bad because...? Hex relies heavily on the theming and is brilliant - the actual ride itself is nothing special at all. If Sub-Terra is a...

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

what about a wingerider, it could be a worlds first vertical lifted wingrider, how brilliant would that be! As good (or bad!) as that might sound, that won't be the concept for SW7. The station exit and return in the plan designs show quite narrow holes in and out of the building. Not enough room f...
