With this year's events now concluded, we start planning our TTSP events for 2020. ⋅  What rides would you like to see included on exclusive ride time? ⋅  Which departments / people would like to see give a presentation? ⋅  Do you have an idea of something you would lik...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

There’s a short video currently on the BBC News website about the Theme Park Management degree course that was designed in conjunction with Staffordshire University by Merlin Entertainments and run at Alton Towers. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-england-stoke-staffordshire-49813168/we-are-stoke-on...

Anyone know how busy the park was today? I know it was horrendous yesterday, just wondering if it's quietened down any

Busy by the looks of it. https://queue-times.com/parks/1/calendar/2019/08/28

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

Single rider on the Smiler is a smart move. I only got 1 go last year when with the family as had to queue for an hour and then do parent swap. I just hope its reintroduced to other rides too.

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019

I think that currently it looks awful so will wait till opening day to see the finished product. Theres no height variations on the front theming making is look tiny and unappealing. It just looks very cheap and temporary. Comparing to previous attraction entrances this has to be the worse.... https...

Re: Galactica - General Discussion

I think they would keep the Galactica theming and name but just redo (turn off) the introduction videos within the station. Its very unlikely we would see any additional theming to emphasis the space theme.

Re: Galactica - General Discussion

VR and Galactica gave the resort what they needed for a season, a fairly cheap new marketable ride to bring in visitors. Time to remove the VR and return the attraction back to Air.

Re: Wicker Man - General Discussion

I'll be honest, my first ride on Wicker Man was disappointing. I didn't think it lived up to the hype and was expecting so much more after reading reviews of it. Scarefest, my opinion totally changed. The ride seemed fasted and more intense and that was riding it during the day. Again riding it in t...

Interesting, looks like this secures the future of Blade for a good number of years. The metal works look like they are for platforms for the loading and unloading areas.

Re: The Next Themed Area/Area Refurb

It wouldn't surprise me if Cloud Cuckoo Land was closed throughout 2019 with the area boarded off with signs saying area under redevelopment.

Gallopers Carousel relocated to Fountain square, Driving school closed and Frog hopper removed due to the replacement in CBeebies Land.

I understand this is an investment and will be a filler in CBeebies Land, however given that Dungeons could be an upcharge, I am not sure what to get excited for in 2019.

Re: SW9

I can't see Rita going and being replaced any time soon and certainly not with the same sort of style of ride. A coaster construction replacing Rita would also most likely involve having to close Thirteen, that would be 2 coasters closed for the majority of at least one season. I wouldn't be surpris...

I do find it strange how they have included Duel in the line up. It is out on a limb!

Also means little or no major TLC will take place on the attraction during the closed season.

Re: Paultons Park

Wow this seems like it could be another large expansion for the park. If its a new area and is themed as good as the Lost Kingdom then i can see this being a huge success for the park. I wonder if this could be a retheme of the area where Cobra and the Edge is as this when i visited this year this w...

Re: TT Summer Festival 2018 - Reviews and Feedback

I'm still feeling 'delicate' from the weekend (I went back to Towers on the Sunday and I'm so regretting it right now) but it was such an amazing event! Thank you to everyone involved. The ERTs were amazing, especially the unexpected Wicker Man one. The talk was very open and frank. The ride takeov...
