They do - on one of my rides some of the lights didn't go out and I saw one of the other towers drop a second or two before mine did.

Re: Merlin Parks Quick Questions

Chessington has been owned by the Tussauds group since 1978 when the group was acquired by Pearsons (which already owned the Zoo).  Alton Towers was bought in 1990, and Thorpe Park in 1998.

Re: Lightwater Valley: 2013 developments

The tractor ride is going next to Eagle's Claw - it's already half built and was due to open this year but got postponed for some reason. I'm wary about getting excited about any new additions at LWV for that exact reason.  Much though I love LWV, it's hard to get excited for possible new coast...

Re: Chessington World Of Adventures: General Discussion

According to the official website, Wild Asia and Mystic East now open at 11.30 on weekdays.  Sounds like more cutbacks to me :(

TR: Thorpe Park, 22nd April

Mid-way through last week I decided to visit Thorpe Park on Sunday.  I’d heard there would be other TTFers around, but as they were there with non-TTFers I hadn’t really planned to meet up with them.  However whilst riding Colossus I spotted a familiar yellow hoodie and ended up having som...

Amazingly, that's already been done on Galaxie Express at Space Center, Germany:

 Did you just seriously suggest Merlin provide something for free???

Well, if they were to do a park hopper ticket you'd expect them to cover it in the ticket price.  I'd imagine anyone else (probably including AP holders) would have to pay.

Re: Strange Coasters

Fabbri have built 3 of their inverted coasters (model name Mistral 63), rcdb only has pictures of Mirage Rosso at Zoosafari Fasanolandia in Italy http://cache.rcdb.com/nb6dcih1d1e890h9o00289.jpg rollercoasterphilosohpy.com has a review and POV of that one, and it looks and sounds hilariously rubbish.

Re: blackpool or disneyland paris?

I'd take River Caves and Valhalla too, but Ghost Train and Space Invader are/were completely rubbish.  I'd rather queue an hour for the Disney rides than 10 minutes for the Blackpool ones.

Re: Efteling: Aquaruna 2012, Hartenhof 2015.

For me, Villa Volta is a solid if unspectacular mad house.  As a non Dutch speaker, the story was lost on me (I didn't have time to read the English version in the queue as it was walk-on).  As a result, the pre shows aren't really of any interest, though the Hugo animatronic is impressive...

Re: Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm

Guest feedback has showed that with a lot of our rides and attractions having a 1.4m height restriction, some of our ‘up for it’ families are unable to enjoy our rides as a group. Over Easter we wanted to make sure these families had the opportunity to experience the Park together and have the best...

Re: Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm

You may be surprised to hear that I've never bothered to work it out, but I'd guess it's a boat every 20 seconds or so, which would lead to around 1400/hour

Re: Europa-Park 2012: "Wodan" GCI Woodie + General Discussion

I think I preferred the old dark ride music (made sense to tie it in with the area music), but the main ride audio was rather forgettable.

Amazing that they've gone back and changed it 3 years after the ride opened - puts the "that'll do" attitude of most parks to shame.
