Re: Parc Asterix 2012: "Oz'Iris" B&M Invert!

I imagine they haven't got round to adding the others yet - I believe Black Mamba started testing without them.

Hopefully they won't just leave loads of them off like Thorpe Park have...

Re: Parc Asterix 2012: "Oz'Iris" B&M Invert!

That would be Monster at Wallygator park, which Pedro hinted at on the previous page.

You could say Os'Iris is the first time a French park has bought a new B&M though.

Re: things you've had to do to get to Alton Towers

I once travelled to Alton Towers using 4 trains (including a steam train) a narrowboat and a lift from a worker at Froghall station.  It took around 52 hours all in all, I wouldn't recommend it.

The BBC have picked up on the story - there's currently a picture of Nemesis on the front page of their news website (albeit the wrong way up) - here's a link to the full article

Re: Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm

OK so here are my initial thoughts - The ride looks spectacular on approach, and is arguably the most intimidating coaster in the park as you walk under the lift hill to get to the entrance.  The theming set pieces are suitably impressive, though the area itself feels a little sparse overall (I...

Re: The Merlin Annual Pass

If you want a flask that's both watertight and one that doesn't erupt everywhere, loosen the top slightly before removing the cap.  Alternatively, just forget about the straw and remove the top to drink from it. I've bought one, but haven't had chance to use it yet, so I'll find out at the week...

Re: MINI MEET: Thorpe Park: 17/18 March 2012

TR time! I had an absolutely amazing weekend at Thorpe - most of my recent trips there have been pretty good and this was no exception.  Saturday was moderately busy but not as bad as I'd expected and Sunday was very quiet with all rides practically walk-on by mid afternoon. Arriving at just af...

Re: Drayton Manor 2012 Season

...and nothing of value was lost. On paper Excalibur was a pretty good ride, and I quite enjoyed my first ride on it when it was mostly working, but in the past couple of years it's been nothing short of an abomination.  Practically nothing worked - no audio, static animatronics, mouldy/rotting...

Re: Park Opening Hours 2012

Theme parks experience something of a paradox in that the more successful they are the worse the guest experience tends to be because the queues are longer.  At the other end of the scale, if poor experiences start driving guests away the park ends up much quieter and those that still visit get...

Re: TTF Euro Coaster Poll 2011-12: THE RESULTS!

Congratulations once again to Blue Fire - a very worthy winner even though it wasn't my #1 pick I've been following the progress of the coasters throughout the poll - here's how the top 10 coasters have placed in each round:                   F  SF R...

Re: Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm

Ever since the plans were first released I've been concerned that queuing for Swarm will be a miserable experience on all but the quietest days.  The loss of SRQ has only made those fears worse.

Re: Park Opening Hours 2012

They won't care anyway because they already have my money.

If I don't visit they've still got my hard earned cash and I've got nothing to show for it.  I'm the only person who loses out.
