Re: Why Don't People Like Rita?

I utterly detest Rita, and I think most other people here have given valid reasons as to why, but here's one thing I will add: it still gets 40-50 minute queues yet so many people on TTF seem to really dislike it. This is because it has absolutely DIRE throughput. The queue for Spinball seems to mov...

Re: The upgraded Rhydrator

I heard it was cramped ,dark and many people just used it as a short cut the oblivion pit. However true this may be, I believe it was changed so they could sell more than just coke, as in their eyes, a vending machine does the same thing but far cheaper. 100% the actual reason. Remember this change...

Can I ask are we basicing it on everything ie Theming, area, ride etc or just the ride it self?

I think that given the state Nemesis is now in, it would only be fair to base this poll on the ride itself lol.

Re: Most Themed Roller Coaster at Alton Towers

I want to say The Smiler because it looks amazing, but unfortunately Nemesis still just pips it. Apart from The Marmaliser, it doesn't really have any theming, just fancy black & yellow paintwork. Nemesis however has a lot. The station monster is obviously the biggest stand out feature, but you'...

I hate that version of Katanga Canyon. The original was the best.

We need to add that this should only be for those who have actually rode The Smiler.

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

I haven't been today, but just looking at the photos coming in from various sources this ride looks absolutely fantastic. What has completely blown me away is the shop! It's huge! Like nothing we've seen in this country before, it's on par with the American parks. And the Shop TV? How random but utt...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

know it's exciting to ride the latest alton towers ride but to plan anything before the ride is officially 100% open you should expect to be dissappointed, i'd rather wait a month and not queue for 6 hours,  I dont pay for towers tickets and even I have not made any plans to go yet I only live...

The Black Hole went cause it was it was 21 years old!

I've always found that area of the park to be blessedly nice. I liked the little rocks you could sit for almost no reason.

21 years isn't old for a ride. That's a baby.

Please do! Recreations are always good fun!

And while you're at it, why not finish the others you started so we can see how different years compare?

Re: How would you make TH13TEEN scary?

Nothing at all, other than adding a bit more story to the ride and perhaps more interesting theming in the queue.

It is a family ride. It does a great job as it is. Marketing let us down, not the ride itself.

Re: I have a question on TH13TEEN :D

It's a Tesla Coil not a plasma globe. It doesn't really have any connection with construction or Th13teen's story, but it is a pretty cool effect. I believe there have been some uses for Tesla Coil's in paranormal investigations but I'm not entirely sure. Perhaps it's just supposed to be some kind o...

Re: why are ALL AT's big coasters special?

There have been many more "firsts" and "special" rides other than what's on your list. The Log Flume for example, was actually the largest in the world at the time it was built. Also, I think Nemesis was a world's first in one respect. I might be wrong about this but I think at i...

Re: Alton Towers: What Ever Happened To?

as in the toliets noises you mean the cubicles playing fart noises ? (awkward if your in one) The funny farting soundtrack was removed by some idiot at towers who lacked a sense of humour and was worried that it would offend people. Slightly off, but on topic... What ever happend to ATA ( http://ww...

im saying 3 words and only 3 words and thats all and i,ll take the back lash like an adult. Bring Back Tussauds - they no how to run a park. Thats All I'm more than certain it makes minimal difference who is running the park. Merlin run towers amazingly well, given the scale etc.... im saying that ...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

I'm fairly annoyed by all this. The "updates" being given by AT are poor, just changing the date on the FAQ page they've put up is insulting. People have spent a lot of money organising trips, now thrown into confusion, and there seems to be no decent response, or consistant one, coming f...

Regarding the pipes. It's simple really - they were intended to be black, so let them be black.  They were black for over 10 years. Keep them that way.

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Quite agree Hurri. I would have thought all these checks would be done weeks ago.

If not, then they will surely land themselves in hot water for sending people around the track with cameras attached and all, before the ride had passed all safety tests and checks.
