Re: 2010: Secret Weapon 6 Part Two

so whos to say Rita's queue isn't going as well! As for SW6's "cattlepen", a cattlepen style of queueline is the most space efficient way of creating a queue, most of Disney's queues use this system and still manage to create an immersive experience, so surely we can't write this project ...

Re: 2010: Secret Weapon 6 Part Two

After all this time the earth shattering pinnacle of quality theme park is revealed, or could have been. A darker, sinister theme good, but castles... needed but in the wrong area. The towers theme is most suited to the areas of Cred St./Coaster Corner, Adventureland and Merrie England avec pirates,...

Re: Relief Road / Bypass: Alton Towers say no

If you actually believe that AT don't want more people in the park, you are surely the deluded one, not them? If you said to the managers at the Towers whether they wanted more guests, I am sure not one of them would say no. A £6million marketing campaign in 2008 kind of shows you that they want mo...

Re: The Exchange Rate: Doom and Gloom for Tourists

They should be offering real alternatives rather than just moaning about "the past" as "the past" is quite that, and we have very real problems to be dealing with right now. Discuss how to do better in the future once these problems have past - but for now, offer support and alt...

Re: Relief Road / Bypass: Alton Towers say no

I do agree that Alton Towers shouldn't have to fork out for the whole bill, but at the end of the day, the traffic is heading for Alton Towers Resort, so as a responsible business, and neighbour, measures should be introduced to help relieve the congestion! AT's development plan must be dire if it'...

Re: Structural Engineering/Ride Engineering Advice

Take Maths, Further Maths and Physics at A Level. Go to university to learn structual engineering or civil engineering; learn a bit of German and some French before heading to Germany, The Netherlands or Switzerland lol Something similar to that, although I should imagine that engineering rides is p...

Wow. It's amazing how similar the generic resort image is for 2008 to that!

Yeah, ie. not at all. :P

Re: The Exchange Rate: Doom and Gloom for Tourists

Nor are the opposition Dan, nor the scores of other people who are involved in this sort of thing. The Government aren't nessecarily right just because they are the government. And there is a right answer, it just won't be clear what that is until everything is over. And the government does play gam...

Re: The Exchange Rate: Doom and Gloom for Tourists

I'm stating what you didn't state for your own rhetorical effect. It is not the borrowing that is the main issue, it is the confidence in the government's plan that is, and on the whole, the consensus among economists is that the government's plan is risky. No-one (as far as I know) has said that i...

Re: The Exchange Rate: Doom and Gloom for Tourists

Your remarks seem to suggest that the borrowing is the main cause of the slide, but things are not as simple as that... Yes. The "main cause" infers there are extra causes, so what are you trying to say? The general feeling is that the UK's plan to deal with the recession is more risky th...

Re: The Exchange Rate: Doom and Gloom for Tourists

Anyone who fails to see Gordon Brown's fault at the heart of the UK's current position is kidding themselves. Debt of £1trillon within a few years - can you not contemplate how long that will take to pay off? Every single penny has to come from a taxpayer. The majority of other countries built up su...

Re: The Exchange Rate: Doom and Gloom for Tourists

Maybe if Gordon hadn't hadn't spent all the money before the Credit Crunch the pound wouldn't be in such a free fall! One of the main reasons it is is because we know are going to have to borrow billions and billions of pounds. And if we had been at the Euro at this point we'd be in an even worse po...

I totally agree. The whole fantabulous and fantastical thing is just really irritating and cheesy. Even if it's just toned down to 'fantastic' and 'fabulous' it seems much more professional.

Totally agree.

Re: Marketing 2009

2008's Marketing was a failure in it's appearence in my opinion, the only reason it worked was the sheer amount it was pumped out. Both visually and psychologically it was average at best. An unprecedented amount of money was spent on advertising this year, much more than ever before I believe, incr...
