Heh, can we stop critising Corky's age. I share her exact birthday so right now this creaky, rusty, rough-ride of a 28 year old is suffering from a very deflated ego.... ;)

These concepts are fantastic. Dark Woods especially. Not sure I'm keen on the machines thing unless that's for an X-Sector revamp. Racers? Nope they tried that with Rita and that never really worked for me. Alton works best when they embrace their surroundings and heritage - look at Hex with it's ne...

Rape is a very serious subject and while I don't wish to sound sexist because it must be a horribly traumatic thing to go through we have to remember it's very easy for a woman to cry rape in English Law, and when they do so they are garunteed anonimity while the male is tarnished and has his name r...

I think a lot of you are posting your feelings about Corkscrew from your own opinion without considering its wider-ranging benefits to the park. Alton has a lot of 'big' rides. Here on the forum we're all pretty much 16+ and love going on the likes of Oblivion, Nemesis etc. What, however, if you're ...

yeah i personally wouldn't like to see this happen at Drayton. just because the way they mantain their rides could mean we have another disaster on our hands! Hmmm, a potentially libelous post and very unfair on dmp. Anyway how many actual moving parts does a drop tower have? The same malfunction o...

I don't think any vast projects should be undertaken - just keep adding and touching up existing rides and attractions to catch up on the neglect we've seen for the last few years.I've been amazed by the little touches so far this year and it's taking the park in the correct direction.

I think the harness opening fear factor (or the hoff for short?!) is part of what makes coaster exciting. As an enthusiast in the back of my mind I know it's 99.9% impossible but there's still that niggle - especially on air which hasn't got any belts and has a very long drop as you go up the lift h...

I heard about it first thing I woke up, it's quite unfortunate really. I'm a massive fan of Back To The Future and the town set destroyed? :( Does anyone know if they'll be able to reconstruct any of the sets, including King Kong? The BTTF set was also severely damaged in a fire in 1990. They rebui...

Those saying that the Merlin takeover has had nil-effect are incorrect. Of course it will have mean't changes. Yes the ON-Park management are the still the same but they are now answering to new off-park bosses. The previous bosses were a Dubai investment bank, who were probably only interested in p...

Problem is we don't know what AT actually said and, I'm guessing it's all a big over reaction. It wouldn't suprise me if AT just wanted to know why the Haunted One website held its views you have to remember this IS AT's ride we're talking about. They know exactly how much time, effort and passion w...

This is yet more encouraging investment in the park. This is exactly what has been lacking since the early 00s and even small additions like this are helping to restore 'teh magics'.

Keep it up Alton, I'm very impressed.

Your answers are in the posts above. The version currently in Towers Trading is now seeing a nationwide release with new distributors. The new distributors have created new artwork for the DVD and because its a new publisher it will essentially have a new catalogue number even though the film is the...

If I could only ever ride one coaster ever again and could only choose between Nemesis & Air it would be.... Air. She's so unique, graceful and fun. I love the feeling of freedom, the soaring. That long swooping turn as you run the edge of the car park is so exhilirating and the moment you assum...

I think Air seems to be running slightly faster these days, seems a bit nippier on the turns, but only very slightly (I believe this is common as coasters age), But no, no, no if you think air should be fast you're totally missing the point of the ride. It's an oasis, an area of calm within the chao...

I actually doubt Alton will make ANY EXTRA profit from the increase and are merely doing to cover price rises they are suffering from their suppliers and fuel. Yeah they probably aren't making any extra profit, but the fact is this is not unusual - the prices have been increasing like this for the ...
