Oh dear and with no Halloween entertainment available over the parks busiest time of year, this really is bad news.

Lets hope  it can all be sorted or else it really will blow the budgets for the year.

Hmm, all together now:

B****Y INTAMIN

Anyone else would actually learn from their mistakes but no, not intamin . Even after building loads of rockets they still can't get the flippin' things to work reliably :x [/rant]

Seriously though, AT urgently need all of these problems to be sorted before the fireworks, especially if Nemesis decides to throw yet another end of season wobbly as appears to be becoming the norm.

The car park didnt look that full, but the coach park was. There were a lot of kids about.

I was hoping it would be dead today, thought wrong though, lol

Ah, must have been a school trip day then lol.

Does anyone know why the Skyride is still closed? Did it actually break down or is it having a re-vamp?

They probably did it on purpose with the sky ride no doubt there will be
lots of people using it.
But there are gonna be so many unhappy wheelchair users and people with prams.

Hey Peeps,

Just got back from a fun filled day at Alton.

Brilliant day infact, but just to confirm that RITA is still closed, but the skyride was open as normal at 10am.

There is no work going on around RITA with both trains dumped in the station. Can't see that opening anytime soon.

AIR seams to be experiencing a few problems. Closed early at 5 (ride close at 6) and has been on and off all day. Whoops

RM-Train Still closed, but that is understandable. Anyone got any news on that? Can't imagine that being open again this season.

Well it's good news that the skyride seems to be back :D (even though the official site says otherwise). How busy was it in the park today?

Annoying that they don't seem to be interested in fixing Rita though.

I was there yesterday - the skyride was working fine from about 10:30.

One of the park officials I spoke to said Rita would be working by midday; obviously didn't happen. I did see a mechanic with a big spanner walking around Rita's station but clearly he couldn't fix it.

Air closed at about 5pm, but then re-opened 15 minutes later but with only one train operating.

Well its reassuring to know that they are at least attempting to fix Rita, and brilliant that the skyride is back :) !

Lets hope that Air isn't going to cause problems now!

Not very busy really. Nemesis and Air queues not got above 45minutes, and usually they were only a half hour wait.

Weather was great for an October day as well.

Awww, I read that as 'Rita has opened' and then I saw all the exclamation marks and I got really excited.

Then realised it was a question :(

Jesus. This is terrible news. Could it be the end of the season for Rita? Could Alton Towers take Intamin to court? Could Alton Towers get masses of complaints?

Top Thrill had a dire opening year. KK even worse. Stealth was terrible and Rita is probably the best of a bad bunch, but still not acceptable.

How are the others faring?

Is it just me or has Rita been worse this season in terms of downtime than in it's opening season? :? I'm seriously looking forward to seeing how maverick gets on next year :)

Mon Oct 23, 2006 7:45 pm

Went today to Alton Towers with Skyride working fine, and RITA still closed with no sign of tryin to fix it. UG swinger and Submission also broke down right at the end of the day so hope they are all ok with no fountains used on Ripsaw allday. :)
