Thank God! Only a couple of months of the season left and they're only just opening it, a major disappointment. Alton needed to work harder to get it open closer to the start of season, rather than the end.

Its not the fault of Alton Towers.

It is no ones fault. No one can not help if the system is not working properly. The engineers ar currently working their backsides off to try and get it open. One of my YourDay friends has told me that YourDay will be definitely opening on Saturday - they have no choice.

I have doubts yes - but with a few months left its a bit dissapointing.. I hope it's worth the wait and can't wait to buy one myself - makes a change of all the ride photos I have!

I think I prefer it to have had a long wait and recieve as much complaints because their dvds don't work properly. These aren't exactly cheap, and if something went wrong during the peak of people buying them Alton would see a tidal wave of angry letters, and general disappointment all round. I'm not counting on this being fantastic if I'm honest, but its better the wait than teething problems with it open.

I really do hope this is it, though.

I agree, its a different kettle of fish with dvds, with pics u see them and not much can go wrong, with dvds and burning them, i can see a lot of people taking the michael with them , saying they dont work ,blah blah when they get home. I think it will be more hassle than anything before this your day.

Its a good job they only did a count down on the Internet then. And not plastered loads of posters everywhere, or other advertising methods - I bet they still feel like idiots though!

They must be testing like mad, so does anyone know if any park visitors have been asked to wear a band and do anything specific?

...or are the Your Day staff being used for testing?

Should imagine it'll be frantic tomorrow and pretty visable that something is going on?

You could XRT Spinball, over to Oblivion, then to Rita, Corkscrew. Flume, CRR, through GW to FV, Nemesis, Air. All rides done, hopefully before the queue builds too! :)

Although given the shaking of the cameras, you might not want to bother. :P

I think I may go also, actually. Provided our lass lets me go & I can drag my mate along. I do have two weeks off from work and am not doing anything other than spending money and lazying about in the sun! Though I do need a haircut... I think I may have to race titler for the pole position of the dvd!
