It should be put everywhere.

The reason it looks crap is because the resort bit is too small.

This is my view of what the logo should look like based on the new one.

Regarding your view on the logo Johno, Merlin's way isn't to pop their name on the logo's of their attractions. It never has been and from the recent take over, looks like it never will be.

This is good in a way because it gives each attraction their own uniqueness and individuality. I liked Tussauds being on the logos, but regarding the new logo putting the "Merlin" on the logo would detract from the individuality of the logo. :)

The trouble is Merlin don't have a stamp on their attractions.

When Tussauds had the parks every single attraction was recognisable as being part of that group.

Without Merlin doing this the group doesn't join the attractions together.

In my opinion it looks too crowded (on that Resort one anyway) with a Merlin stamp. I like the new logo but would prefer the 'Resort' to be less curved although it is growing on me. :D

Does it need to?

Why?

What is the point in linking together their parks. They are all indiviual parks and no way relate - bar their ownership.

I really like both of the new logos. I just hope they can put them to good use, ie. new signs for the main entrance to the resort with the 'Resort' logo, new theme park entrance signs with the new logo without 'resort', etc. etc.

With the red 'Alton Towers' Banner sticking out from the rest of the logo like it does there's good potential for some nice signs made, with that section protruding out of the rest of the logo, in a '3D' style way. Could be very nice :)

Check out the official website, for yet another logo. It's like they can't make their minds up!

This new one has a much bigger 'RESORT' underneath. Looks much better though.

I like it in bigger... the only reason I didn't like it too much before was because it wasn't legible.

Alton Towers logos haven't been that legible for a while. With the past 4, they've been such small writing in such massive circles that they're hard to read if small or if read from a distance.

I still don't like the resort version of the logo, and preferred the one with smaller resort banner.

Vaguely on topic, I've just noticed that TT still has the old logo on the site menu page and there may be others elsewhere.

But it just makes the resort logo look too cramped now :(

Thats exactly what they should've done to add the 'resort' part to the logo. It then goes with the natural curve of the logo then rather than going entirely against it...

Really dont like the resort one as it is...

Eww :x. I dont like that new one. I prefer the earlier resort logo as it wasn't as so much (in your face we're a resort) even though it is more legible. Also it hides the bottom of the circle to much personally.

Any ideas which one they've decided on yert :?.

The new version looks really odd, I don't really see the need for the resort anyway as people really don't seem to care...

You'd also have thought they'd make their mind up on which logo they prefer before putting it on the official website, it seems a little un-professional to keep messing around with the company logo....

On a side note, anybody else notice the really cool, magical background on the corporate event's page...

http://www.altontowers.com/events/index.php

That should be on the home page....

:)
