Oblivion stuck

Thu Jul 17, 2008 1:49 pm

According to Screamscape on the 7/16/08 riders on Oblivion were stuck at the top for a short amount of time it says short but i wouldnt call and hour short :P due to a small technical problem the ride was later closed, the riders had to put on safety harnesses at the top of the drop so they could be safetly lowered down, i wouldnt fancy that lol! .

Was anyone there when this happened anyone on Oblivion at the time...

Not sure wether its up and running im sure it is now..

What would of happened is a computer shut down as a security measure the ride would have been evacuated quick and safely and a few people may have been shaken up from the height of the climb, that's even if they evacuated from the top.

then that would have been mediarised to the following...

Alton Towers guests today faced death as the Oblivion ride stopped perilously over the edge of the hole, bolts were flying off as the ride teetered over the edge the passengers were air lifted from the ride before it fell into the hole killing everyone on board.

Eye witness sheila from Stoke had this to say " I faught I was gonna die, it was so scary and me felt lik i wuz gonna die again I couldn believe iot wuz happening to me im traumatized for liff!11!!!"

Alton spokesmen had this to say "It was a security stop of Oblivion, the passengers were safely evacuated and given warm drinks and fast passes"

The thing is Screamscape aren't always reporting truth, for instance they reported a few weeks back that the Pleasure Beach was up for sale.

The mirrors review is slightly over the top lol!, but it may have been that bad you never no  :) .

I no screamscape is mainly based on rumours but this is oviously true just slightly over reacted, still i wouldnt like to be in that situation i would proberly be the one on the edge 'frozen with fear' :P .

Screamscape - Tabloids. whats the difference? :P Oh yeah, one blows everything out of proportion, and the other will report anything they're told :P

both as bad as each other  Anyway, where did blivvy get stuck? I take it it was the Lift hill and not the Holding brake :D

The train was less than half way up the lift, and was evacuated in less than 40 minutes.

Oh well, it's Britain and it's sex-up society.

Yeah I thought it would have only been on the lift hill. It would have been too risky to try and evacuate people from a train half teetering over the edge of the Oblivion drop. Anyone could have fell and that wouldn't have been good publicity.

The shuttle could never actually stop on the drop chain as it is impossible to hold one there. If you notice it never actually comes to a stand still before dropping.
