STUDENTS are set to join Celebrity MasterChef winner and ex-Atomic Kitten Liz McClarnon in a Guinness world record attempt at Alton Towers on Friday.
Students from three UK secondary schools; Bottisham Village College, Cambridge; Littleover Community School, Derby; and St Anselms College, Birkenhead; hope to beat the record for the most people cooking simultaneously.
The challenge has been thrown down by home appliance brand Belling and will involve 100 children. The winning school will receive £1,000 worth of cooking equipment.
McClarnon said: "This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for four schools across the UK to take part in a world record. It is a great way to get children interested in cooking.
"Before taking part in Celebrity MasterChef, I was not that confident in the kitchen, but now cooking is something that I am passionate about. I look forward to sharing my new found enthusiasm with the children."
