The Winjas is merely an elevator lift which then connects to the track. Many rides have such a lift - including Matterhorn Blitz at Europa-Park and a Super Splash at Plopsaland.

The drop track (if thats what it is and it could easily be something else) would likely drop below the exit track then raise back up to meet it.

This would be a world first as it has never been done before, there are track lifts on a number of rides but thats not the same thing as a track drop the technology and ride experience is completely different.

Having seen it again yesterday I honestly have to to say I think what we'll be seeing inside the building is a reverse tilt, I just can't quite see what else they could put into that amount of space to both reverse a coaster train and change its level.

I don't think you tilt backwards, I think it will be a flat slow lauched backwards, into that lovely looking drop.

Next March is going to be fun :)

I think after looking at the concept images for Dark Forest again, that what will happen is.

You come into the ride building, the track collapses forwards then tilts you backwards, maybe by one of these Wraith figures dragging you backwards out of that section (launch section), down into the helix.
So basically like the ride in Las Vegas on the Stratosphere?

I’m starting to wonder if SW6 will still to be a worlds first. Now I come to think about it does it really need to be?

Nemesis was never a world first but as my first post "The vertical loop challenge" proved there is no other ride with a layout like it. (Nemesis inferno has all the same inversions but not in the same mastered layout).

Oblivion may have been beaten now with taller and steeper models but it still has that hole and the all round thrill factor.

Air is still a unique ride. It is the only B&M Flyer to have a fly-to-lie element. The fact it doesn’t have a pretzel loop actually makes it easier for first time thrill riders.

Now all SW6 needs to do is provide something different. If the hills in the wood have good airtime and the backward section has some Merlin magic then the ride will succeed world first or not.

The world first remark was never really aimed at the general public anyway. If it is something obscure then I don’t think anyone who isn’t an enthusiast will notice.

The size of the station/building really is amazing me! I also meant to say last week that when Rita was going all the way through it's cattle pen queue I noticed that they were digging away in the woods at the bottom which if I recall is where the queue line will be going?

Yeah I noticed a digger over there last week, I just thought it was out of the way of the rest of the construction site but it makes sense if thats where the queue is going.
The digger was in the woods 27 10 09 as well :)

This is one of the clearest signs yet that the whole area will be rethemed.

All the fuss about plywood - It's fine for cladding a building and for constructing walls, next time you're at Towers street Monorail station Give the walls a tap... Yep you guessed it PLYWOOD! and thats been there plenty of years!

I think they are plaster board construction. But in essence it is a similar concept. Although looking at the pics of SW6 you can see the plywood is non permanent anyway.

I was talking to my mate the other day and he thought it might be a drop, with the first bit being fast, then the drop speed slowing and visual effects happening around the train to make it seem like a faster fall even though it's slowing down and getting into position?

And our beloved CCL Skyride station was made of plywood, so I'd take it with a pinch of salt.

Any idea on the trains yet?

On the trains, I think it will be some sort of Mega light train, because they wont be allowed to have a train with no back because of the health and safety in this county. But im hoping they will be like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKgxMGzZWc4

That would just be insane. there is a CTR for RCT similar to that. But if I'm honest, I don't think it is practical yet. Think of all the trouble X has with just one axis of rotation!

It's been clearly stated quite a few times by Russell Barnes and others, and on some promotional material I think, that it's a world's first. If it wasn't I'm prepping a false advertising law suit right now!

Can someone explain to me how this walkway on the side of the lift will function without stairs? It can't possibly be shallow enough to walk up can it?

Did think the same, but it could work if using anti-slip stuff and the fact all people would need to be harnessed up anyway. To be honest I think that is just a base frame and steps will be added to it.
