If Alton was for sale...

Sun Nov 29, 2009 10:10 pm

A bit of a fun post this one, I’m sure someone’s done something similar to this before:

If Alton Towers decided to sell everything over the internet from simple signs to anything as big as a part (but not the whole of) a Secret Weapon what would you buy?
This topic is only for fun and I’m not suggesting Alton would become the sale of the century. Although I do know a theme park that was auctioned off before.
Don't say something ridicules like Oblivions drop unless you actually have a house big enough to keep it or a handy 120ft hole in the ground.

My first thought would be to buy the big Air sign over the shop. It would look good as a Christmas light during this time of year. :P

Nice topic. I'd buy all the big silver pinballs from around Spinball for the garden... and the Beastie.

Dibs on the Giant Spider From Duel, it would look awesome hanging above my Bed, or as a soothing Mobile for my tender offspring of the future :P

Claims also on the Nemesis Gun for a lovely piece of Garden Furniture, and a Flume Boat to convert into an actual Bath 8)

I'd get one of the Air Gate signs. They're awesome, and yet overlooked.

I'm sure someone will be able to find you that one day.

Thought of a new one, the "Pointless Post" although I would keep it where it is and just put a plaque on it. (If you don't know what I mean there is a topic called “a rather pointless post”).

Realistically, I'd like the Nemesis sign and the Teddy Coaster (Towers Trading).

Unrealistically, I'd like all the Scarefest props a Monorail cabin with some track.

Oh Oh, Sparkly branch from Hex please! In my living room, on the table... as... center piece! Perfect.

Gosh and a whole load of stuff from Duel that I can't even think of now, all sorts.

Pillar Demon! Complete with its very own Sexy Strobe™.

Also the chained branch from the Hex vault, with its fairy lights and smoke machine. :D

EDIT: Just realised Carla beat me to the chained branch! ^^ Lol! Errrr... errrr... I'd get the huge projector from the cinema room and the video. :D

I'll claim the control consoles for Air, Oblivion and Nemesis, please, for no other reason than I like pressing buttons :P.

Also, I'll have the old woman prop from the octagon in Hex - would look fantastic billowing on my path in the dead of night!

Finally, I'll nab the... well, not quite sure what to call it. The flashy alien-looking thing from Oblivion's queueline, along with a few monitors playing the queueline video loop. Could make for an interesting back garden feature...

I'd very much like Rita's entrance sign and tyre :D

I also love the main Alton Towers entrance plaza. So many have passed through those gates, all experiencing the magic that is Alton Towers! :D

I'd have the giant hot dogs, fries, drinks and sweets from the rooves of Sweet-T-Rex and Bronto Bites in Ug Land. Oh and the giant rib cage for my dog!

I'd have the test seats from all the rides. I'd love to play RCT sitting in a real B&M chair!
