ERT Line-Up 2010!

Sat Jan 23, 2010 9:47 pm

I'm not sure if this has been posted yet but I've just checked on the website, it now has the EarlyRideTime line up for this year:
Oblivion
Nemesis
Marauder's Mayhem
Heave Ho!
Runaway Mine Train
Hex
Sharkbait Reef by SEA LIFE
R.I.P CORKSCREW R.I.P
1980-2008

Re: Alton Towers-ERT line up 2010

I like having Nemesis on board now, but think Air and Duel could have been a more centrallised option than Oblivion and Hex, plus its a shame not having Rita or Spinball as they tend to work up the worst queues durinng the day.

I guess they are trying to disperse guests round the park a bit rather than centralise a huge block of people in FV/X Sector etc. I wish Thirteen was involved though :( Air was included in its first year.

Great having Nemesis back on ERT. Missed heading straight to the Valley and do a bit of Nemmy whoring.

This strikes me as most odd. We have less attractions this year than last, and the rides are not centralised at ALL...

Why not just open all of the non-water rides on the left of the park? Forbidden Valley (Air/Nemesis/Blade), Gloomy Wood (Duel), Katanga (RMT) and Mutiny Bay (Heave Ho, Marauders & Sharkbait Reef)? Seems daft having rides open all over the shop... Makes it hard for guests!

Still... Nemmy's back! Nothing like Nemesis at 9am!

I don't know - although you know what Alton are like. Often, rides open before 10.00am anyway. Submission often did, and when I worked at AT in 2007 we often opened Rita long before 10:00am.

Thirteen will no doubt open as soon as it can to get the queue moving - they don't want hundreds of people waiting at the entrance to the Dark Forest come 10.00am!

Perhaps it's strategic and they do, infact, want ert guests scattered about the park before they let everyone in. It makes it slightly fairer for everyone else, and an even choice as to where they should begin their day.

Well there goes my whoring of Rita before the queue gets impossible...

Looks like I will have to think of a new plan going around the park too. (Used to be Rita > X-Sector > Spinball > Rest of Park)

Nemesis is a welcome return to the lineup though, but would have preferred Rita/13 instead of Oblivion.

I think my plan will be several wake up calls with Nemesis and then straight to Dark Forest for 9.45am before the masses get there!

I wonder if Woodland Walk will open once more like the old days from 8.30am rather than the 10am opening of 2008 and 2009?

Any idea if the Woodland Walkway from the hotels would be open?
It would certainly save time getting the Monorail and then walking to Forbidden Valley.

The walk from Forbidden Valley to the other side of the park will be a killer.

It doesn't specify yet - hopefully they'll change it so Woodland Walk is 08.30 - 10.00 rather than 10.00 - 12.00 as it has been for the past 2 years.

Hmmmm. Much like most here, while I'm delighted to see Nemesis in ERT, it seems odd to have the rides so spread out. Surely, Air and Nemesis would make more sense, just like Oblivion and Rita did last year. Nothing quite like Oblivion first thing in the morning after breakfast though, and then a power walk over to Spinball, just as the non-ERT scum are pouring in, like something out of Brave Heart.

Also, Rita and Air tend to get the worst queues during the day, therefore a bit of ERT wouldn't have gone amiss. While whoring is good, it's never a problem to get on Nemesis or Oblivion.
[size=90]For some things there is no rational explanation. There is no way out. There is no happy ending to this story. Welcome to the unknown. Welcome to eternal darkness.

Welcome to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - The Ride

This shows Sonic Spinball as open too. On the left hand side.

I'd hope to see some additions to the ERT list when the season starts - else the only reason for me to get up at 7am on a Sunday morning will be for Nemesis.

I'd assume that they wouldn't want to add Thirteen to the list until it's been through some testing - if they want to improve throughput for what will almost certainly be the most popular ride this season it makes sense to try to get an hour's worth of ERT visitors on it before 10am.

Great to see Nemesis on ERT, but I agree with others that this line up isn't nearly as good as we had last year.

"Overall" for me, it is as good. As last year I was only really fussed about Rita. In 2010, I will only be fussed about Nemesis. However, there are still less rides.

I thought the inclusion of Th1rteen would have been an obvious one O.o It appears not to be the case. From a business point of view and with the sale of ERT passes on the gate they would include their newest addition and sell more tickets. Strange. :?

I'm guessing they are trying to keep staffing costs to a minimum, given that, even with pre-booked ticket holders getting ERT, and selling ERT as well, it still is generally quiet.

I do agree with Spikes point that they are missing a trick by not putting Thirteen on ERT. Along with selling more ERT tickets on the day, then the opportunity to get to ride before the masses descend at 10am could be enough to encourage more people to pre-book via the Alton Towers website, rather than use BOGOF's. Have a feeling it could be down to issues of crowd control and trying to avoid having to many people in the area come 10am.

Possibly Thirteen being added later on in the season perhaps? Though as has already been mentioned, the likelihood is, if morning testing has been done ok, then it will probably open before 10am anyway.

Am I the only one who's tempted by the thought of spending an hour non-stop riding Marauders Mayhem? :D
