UK theme parks from another point of view!

Permanent lighting would be fancy. But in reality why does the park need to much permanent lighting? it's only open in the dark for 2 and a bit weeks a year.

It would be amazing theming wise, but from a financial point of view, it's not worth it for a couple weeks.

For parks which stay open late more often it's a brilliant idea, but for Alton Towers it just seems a little bit pointless.

Katanga Canyon would really be enhanced with lanterns like this along the pathway leading up to the main area:

More industrial lighting should be used in Forbidden Valley and X-Sector, the ones shown below would be ideal to put on the fences in Nemesis' queueline:

These sort of options are hardly expensive, especially as many of these areas are already connected to power.

The UK is so gloomy and overcast for most of the year that lighting is almost needed during the day!

Well they are considering or even aiming for being open over the winter I believe.

Also, I think as the park and resort begin to expand late summer nights are going to be on the cards so they would need lighting for that. I would love the park to be open til 9 or 10 accross the summer months.

The park could quite easily install some proper lantern type lights along the 'Katanga Canyon Path', as there is already the existing lights in place (rarely used). Also in gloomy wood, lights hidden in the trees would create an excellent ambience and up-lighters on the house would cast long 'creepy' shadows over the walls. Next up for lights would be Dark Forest, not much work would be needed here as the 'worksite' lights (used on forest feast, TH13TEEN station ect.) could be attached to scaffoldings poles with real ivy being planted near by. Also X-Sector & Forbidden Valley would be easy to light as the lights could be low level type which only light up the paths (creating a sinister atmosphere in both areas). Last but not least - Air, up-lighters (fitted with blue gels) could be positioned underneath the track, highlighting only the track to show it off more during darkness. Perhaps another idea for Cloud Cuckoo Land would be to install 'gobo' projectors inside the building windows (which line the street) this would appear 'magical' to younger guests as they would wonder where the patterns would be coming from.

So with the mazes moving to the BH tent and opening earlier on in the day as most reports are suggesting, does this mean the boiler house will be changed to scrap the outdoor scene at the beginning with the security guard and the hut? Doesnt really have the same affect if the sun is out lol plus cant see where they could put the outdoor section around the BH tent!?!

Just out of interest as well how much were the fast passes last year for the TOT? The main que was moving so slow last year beacause every 5mins more people would be turning up with fast passes and in the end i ended up waiting 2 hours 25 mins! Should there be fast passes for TOT?

The outdoor hut scene was only used in last years version. It seems to change pretty substantially each yeah anyway.

What you've spotted is a piece of theming for the past Scaremaze 'Field of One Thousand Screams', and will most likely be reused for this years new Scarezone, 'Zombies!'.

If executed well, this could be a great addition to the lineup!

Hey guys. Been reading through this topic and have seen there's a lot of confusion and repeated questions so I've decided to try and help clear things up a bit. :)

-Terror of the Towers will be in the Towers as usual.
-Boiler House and Carnival of Screams will both be located on park inside the old Black Hole tent.
-You have to purchase tickets to do the two additional mazes (£12 for a ticket to do both).
-If you stay in a Scare Room you get ONE free entry to Boiler House and Carnival of Screams. You also get free fastrack which allows you to skip the queue of all the mazes and Th13teen once each.
-All hotel guests will get free fastrack as there is no early ride hours for hotel guests during Scarefest.

Hope that clears everything up and stops people asking the same thing. If you have any questions then just ask. :)

Because sir, where else in x sector would you put 2 money grabbing attractions?

Roll on october!! :D

Even if they lose the outdoor scene for th boiler house, i can see this being better, new corridors, different corners, lighting, very dark too....alton wouldn't down grade the mazes.....only make them better :D

It does say "both" mazes will be held in the x-sector so both of them are going in the tent.

It is under more information under the ultimate ticket. We know they are in the Black Hole tent because there is no room anywhere else in X-Sector.

And also there are a lot of posters on the forum who have sources at Alton Towers who learnt that the mazes would be in the Blackhole Tent a while ago :)
