Hi all, I was just wondering if they will re-fill the £6 fizzy drink capsules in the water park? It's been 2 year since I went swimming there so have forgotten.
Thanks

Yes they do, just head to the Quenchers bar and they will re-fill it for you.

When they test them out for a while, do the ride hosts get to go on them for a couple of minutes whilst they are warming up?

Depends what ride you work on. It's usually only the roller coasters you go on, you're only allowed on for tree tests. Not every coaster needs a tree test. Though sometimes end of the day staff rides happen, depends on certain factors.
Brett, a lot of the information you give is specific to your old ride team only - and not necessarily how the rest of the park/rides teams operate. Two or three hosts have to ride Oblivion/Spinball in the morning, but these are not tree tests. Something that is true on Air/Nemesis or that area, is not always true of the other teams.

In my experience, they don't ask to see your ticket I've often bought several to give to friends when only there with AP Holders, but I'm sure they'd be fine with a Tesco ticket :).

I will apologize in advance for sounding like a complete plank  but could somebody please tell me where I go to buy fast tracks please?

When I go up for scarefest it will be myself, my disabled hubby, his carer and my two cousins. Due to my hubbys condition he can no longer go on most of the rides ,so I was going to treat my little cousins to fast tracks so my hubby isn't waiting for us for hours.

I've never even looked for the place to buy them , as we have always gone to get the Disabled wrist bands as my other half is quadriplegic and a non-ambulant wheelchair user, but it is becoming impossible to lift him on and off the rides anymore

Dark Forest - £10.00 (TH13TEEN + RITA)
Adventurer - £6.00

Waterpark Annual Pass

Pretty sure the renewal price is: £44 for an individual pass and £35.20 per family pass. :)

These prices may have changed slightly due to the VAT rise.

Buses out of season

Thu Feb 03, 2011 5:47 am

Hey guys, new here, long term browser, got an interview/assessment tomorrow with Alton towers for ride op (heard you had to start as host though? O.o) anyway. Got to be there for 9am however not sure yet if I should get taxi or bus. I can get to stoke station for 7:25am ealiest. I will have to use this transport method everyday if I get the job anyway until I can afford a car. But the question is, do the buses run out of season?

If they don't it's £20 each way by taxi >.< pricey interview.

Thanks

The buses are currently running a reduced winter service (full details here).

There is a 14 bus from Stoke station at 7.35 arriving at the resort at 8.40

Thanks! Could turn out to be disastrous though, Train late by 5 mins and bus going few minutes early could mean me being a no show >.<

Sure there will be a taxi around though... I hope...

Stoke-On-Trent taxi companies are numerous and, in my experience, very quick - all will be happy to take you to Alton Towers, should cost no more than £20 each way as you say :)

EDIT: The company I've used in Stoke, who seemed very good when I used them, are Z Carz, telehpone 01782 898552

Are the AT Bus service return tickets for the same day, or can you buy a return and well, return 2 days later?

Last year you could only buy a return ticket for the same day, but i'm not too sure if this has changed.

Yep, they're definatley running. It's the normal times (9-40am Pickup, 5-20 Pickup from Alton Towers)

A few Towertimers are getting the bus too the Half-Term meet.

Here's the link to the timetable :- http://www.derbysbus.info/times/timetab ... 110219.pdf

I believe it's the Blade. Was installed in 1980, 31 years down the line and it's still in a great condition. If you don't include flat rides then the oldest ride would be the Log Flume, installed in 1981.

Due to the 10-4 opening, the bus leaves Towers at 4:30 during half term :)
