Fanta should not be allowed to sponsor any ride.
They do not understand how to use theme park marketing. Just take a look at their King of the Park game:
That’s their image of what a theme park should be like. Maybe you disagree but I think it’s vile. They’ve taken the same opinion as Thorpe Park that all rides are supposed to be Extreme! And pant’s wettingly scary then continued to make it as tacky as possible.
When they got the sponsorship for Oblivion they tried to make it like the ride pictures above. I’m only glad they weren’t willing to spend the money re-panting it. Fanta don’t understand subtlety or effective ride themeing.
I can appreciate that Merlin has to keep to the sponsorship agreement but Fanta's current marketing style does not suit Alton Towers at all. Just saying a ride does not have a theme (such as the Skyride or monorail) does not mean Fanta adverts will work. The park has an image to uphold and sticking tacky adverts on a ride, especially one which goes over the Gardens, will hurt Alton’s reputation.
