Interesting how the newer the ride is, the worse its rated in this poll.
If that's not a huge wake up call for Alton Towers, then I don't know what is.
This new marketing campaign is actually very clever.
For the park, not only does it generate interest in the park and drive sales but it also acts as market research to discover which of their rides is most favoured - armed with this information they can then buy in the correct level of merchandise for each ride, knowing that the merchandise for the best ride will sell the best. Furthermore, it may also allow them to see which ride element is most popular (speed, freefall, inversions, airtime etc), which could then be included as part of SW7.
For the public/enthusiasts, they get a chance to be involved in a fun campaign and feel nostalgic over old adverts from the past as well as getting the opportunity to win prizes.
Its a win-win marketing campaign! :D
