I think I have, but I've been evacuated on so many dark rides I no longer know which ones I have and which ones I haven't!

When I was a nipper, I always wanted to break down on toyland tours so i could get off the boat onto the scenery.

Never evacuated on Duel but it stopped. Probably because of a disabled person. Always happens on the Haunted Mansion at Disney Orlando. Only problem with Haunted House rides nowadays.

The only ride i've been evacuated on was Toy Story Mania. Was pretty cool getting to walk the track. Would love to be evacuated from Duel

Duel was good we got stuck in the bat area was shocked have easy this effect worked. The staff came to release us from the cart and the cart behind us was the reason the ride was stopped. It's motor was lying on the floor. We were showed to the nearly exit and then was showed to the gates near the main ride queue.

Iv'e been evacuated from Duel :) And believe me it's not as good as you might think, we were near the end of the ride, so it took 40 minutes to evacuate us! We were stuck for ages with the effects on, it was pretty creepy, but for most of the time the house lights were on and the effects were off. We were shown the exit and came off the ride, nothing special, but Iv'e got to say even in the light the theming and detail looks really good!  :D

Duel stopped on me. But I think this is because a disabled/fat person was getting on.
One ride that I HAVE been evacuated from was the ghost train at Blackpool pleasure beach. It stopped and we were there for 10 mins before someone came along and collected us. We had to walk down the centre of the track so we didn't set any of the effects off.

My friend was evacuated from the haunted swing at the same theme park. The door swung open and caught the swing, stopping the ride.

I have been evacuated of Duel. The ride kept stopping so eventually they turned on the lights and said that a member of staff was going to be with us shortly. Then they lead us to a fire escape and gave us fast-tracks as compensation. Used it on RMT and River Rapids

Same thing but on Ramases, but a teen / young adult operated it and kept squirting water at us. Really annoying :(

Would love to be evacuated off a ride, would be so weird, except if it was on oblivion, i wouldn't cope

I have seen people been evacuated off a ride before, it was grand national at blackpool (the 2 racing wooden roller coasters?) and i seen the people get off the lift hill.  :|

I was evacuated from Duel about 8 year ago just before the big spider. Had a spider next to my head creaking up and down for half an hour before the lights came on and we were escorted off.

Annoyingly the only queue jump we got was for smaller rides...

Re: Memories of getting stuck on a ride at Alton Towers

First Post :D
After only beeing once before in 2010, me and my husband decided to get annual passes for last year which were awesome and we used them loads. I thought it would be a good time to get over my fear of heights (STILL haven't been on Nemmy or Blivvy!) but it kind of made it worse after a trip on the flume..

I'm not 100% when it was last year but it was getting towards the end of the season so maybe September time. I was a lovely day, having so much fun around the park until the power was tripping on some of the rides forcing them to close for a bit. We decided to go on the flume, one of my favourites. We queued, got in a boat with 2 others and everything was going smoothly until that first lift hill.....

We stopped. Dead. I panicked. They announced they were having problems but to stay seated and it would be up and running soon. I calmed down. Then, it started jerking up and down and I got a wee bit hysterical and started crying (baring in mind i'm nearly 21 and married, not a good look for me!). We got moving again but ever 10 secs it just stoped and jerked! My husband thought it was hillarious how scared i was!

Luckily once we passed that first drop everything was fine :) I did laugh about it when we came off but I don't think it helped with my fear of heights haha!

how appropriate i have just noticed this topic, as i was evacuated from duel yesterday after a power dip.
in fact the op is the only member of staff i have been able to fault over the last two days. after the ride stopped, an irritated sounding voice boomed over the PA telling us to leave by the nearest fire exit, due to the power dip shutting the ride down. we actually had to wait for someone to turn up as the staff seemed to forget that some of us can't get out with the lap bars locked, but it didn't stop him shouting at us over the PA a further four times before a member of staff arrived. to unlock the bars.
like i said, the ONLY member of staff i will criticise, as everyone else i encountered was a delight to meet. i can appreciate that shut-downs are infuriating, especially when they are occurring repeatedly (I've been on the receiving end of them myself), but it's no reason to transfer that anger to the guests.

Only time I've ever got stuck on a ride was on the Oblivion lift hill, it stopped because someone on the shuttle in front (which was at the top) had a camera out. Loads of people on the front row were bricking it, saying that the lift hill is the worst part of the ride - frankly IMHO its quite comfortable really, lying back in the moulded seat with the safety of the OTSRs over you.
