AT most certainly won't be getting a wingrider. Thorpe Park hold exclusivity with The Swarm, so it'd be pointless. There's also the height factor to take into account.

My money is on a cross-Valley B&M hyper. Just think, it'd be the first in the UK - a favourite park trend.

I sort of think indoor launch coaster, but the Flume definitely needs replacing by a water coaster of some sorts.

I have my heart set on the site of Charlie and the burger restaurant. Dr Who is the only IP that has a long shelf life. My proposal to Merlín is snap up the timelord before the americans. The 4d theatre can be a pre ride show before you board the coaster. Move the kiddies rides to adventure land to kickstart that part of the park. I am doing Some research already into the idea. Picture opening day with the old doctor who actors there. The BBC can have a shop selling merchandise and split the profits with Merlín. There all sorted.

If they can't get planning permission to put fences up in the gardens I can't see them allowing them to build a coaster over the valley. I think at the moment there is enough coasters at the park unless they plan on removing 1 first. A kids coaster going though the farm would be good. Maybe replacing the same layout as the nutty ride.

I don't see why they couldn't get planning permission for a cross valley coaster in the woods behind the gardens, the gardens are listed, the woods aren't  :D
Also there is NO SUCH THING as enough coasters, the more the better. A large ever expanding range of coasters will never fail to draw the crowds

Cross valley coaster has a layout with drawings and it had planning permission if I remember. Does the thread still exist on here that will remind me of the details. I personaly think the farm, storybook land and adventure land will get a makeover first. I hope the Smiler issues dont harm future projects.

Plans & info can be found HERE.

Ralph Armond, then the divisional director of Alton Towers, said about plans for the wooden roller coaster, during the Nemesis 10th Birthday event on March 15th 2004 HERE.

Thanks for that. I remember this all happening back then but not the detail of it all. A wooden coaster that starts in the dark forrest sounds Good. One of the those hybrids may not cause as much tree disruption. This baby would be something crikey. If your reading this alton towers as a thank you for towers times build this bad Boy.

I really hope that alton have another crack at a woodie one day, just imagine if they did one of these two options;

-A wooden hyper coaster with BIG airtime
Or
-a new wooden hybrid like outlaw run or iron rattler, seriously just imagine flying through the forest on a coaster like outlaw run, definitely be something special. Just take a look at these pov's http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wJ015rF7WRU http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=iGKbhydunoE

For those interested, a NoLimits POV of the proposed coaster can be found here, and an offride video here.

Anyone thought of how cool it would be to have a cross valley stand up?

Sorry to double post but I received this message from someone who I am assuming was meant to post it here;

Nope no stand up ride coz it will seriously get 100,0000 people injury

How? Stand up coasters are 100% safe. I suggest you have a look at drayton manor's website...

by standup coaster do you mean A woodie standup or metal because a woodie would have more likelihood of being made as it would blend in with the trees.

Is there even such a thing as a woodie stand up? I see no reason that a steel coaster couldn't be built if it was painted the right colour.

Edit: just checked and it appears there isn't - possible secret weapon project 'world's first wooden stand up coaster'  :)
