Looks like there is marks on the track which suggests it's been testing?

The ride has been rumoured to have been testing for at least a month. Given it’s expected to open in less than 2 months, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s received its ADIPS certificate and is now undergoing operator training.

The POV clip is definetly Wickerman. It shows the section of track where you go through the theming structure for the first time, and you climb up to the tall helix with the sound walls.

I paused the video I defiantly think its passing under the lift hill from the first drop.

I'm sorry.. but the first drop doesn't have a banking at that degree, also you can see the helix at the bottom of the site as you exit the structure in that shot. If you download the video, and watch it frame by frame, you can see the structure, track to the left that comes out of the chest in the top left corner, and also see it's entrance point top right as you exit.

Not to sound rude or anything.. just trying to clarify any confusion :sweat

If there’s one positive that can be taken from today’s release of the 2018 operating schedule, it does seem to confirm that Wicker Man will open with the rest of the park on March 17th, as it is part of the Early Ride Time offering.

Unfortunately this one positive will be overshadowed by the numerous negatives. Wicker Man should have been part of ERT and open at the beginning of the season regardless.

Merlin better hope Wicker Man doesn't have any of their trademark "teething troubles" if it's the only thrill ride on ERT... :sweat

I hope we can assume Wicker Man does stick to the ERT opening time on opening day, rather than waiting 'til 10:00 when there's a bigger crowd to see it be opened. It's probably safe to say there will be enough enthusiasts there to fill the area though, and the ride seems to be on schedule so far, so there's no big reason why they would throw that on us (fingers crossed)

This has just been posted by AT saying there’s a hidden message in the Beornen runes...

EDIT: On closer inspection is only seems to read “Feed the Flames"

''Feed the Flames''...what could this mean? Just a slogan or maybe it's suggesting a more interactive element (going out on a limb here) during the experience?

Some of the replies to this on Facebook are hilarious with reference to the staggered opening times etc...

I've seen them, people are furious! Can't say I don't blame them to be honest. However, with all the testing that AT are apparently doing with Wicker Man, this will hopefully reduce the amount of teething problems the ride will have.

Ok, it  just looked like the lift hill on the top right that you go under to me and looked more like a wooden frame than a metal structure you are going through, but i'm probably wrong? The metal structure is very see through then? Not what I expected!

Yeah I can see what you mean, it does look similar. And yeah the structure is quite see through, which I also wasn't expecting. They may add theming to make it not see through.. but I do think that the structure will be practical ready, if they were to of added theming in the tunnel sections, then they would of done it whilst it was covered over I would of thought? :-k

Maybe like the Adventure Drive coaster in Japan (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fuCQ8dnbVzA&t=143s), feed the flames means the louder you scream the larger the flame effect?

This has been found online, looking for a wooden coaster specialist (a necessary job role needed for parks getting their first woodie).

So Towers will have an engineer specialised in wood coasters as well as their standard maintenance/engineers currently onsite. This means they are already thinking about retracking it in the long term which is good to see!

As I say in my initial post, the wood coaster specialist is required when a park instals their first wood coaster - they’re very different beasts compared to the steel coasters we see at Towers now, and although I expect it’ll be looked after in the long term, I wouldn’t look much into it just yet! ;)

Of course Wicker Man won’t be looked after. Merlin operate the park...

In terms of the actual ride structure itself, they most definitely will look after it.

It’s the theming, effects and area upkeep that Merlin have a reputation of not maintaining.
