Photography at Alton Towers

Mon Oct 01, 2012 6:31 pm

Hi all, as someone with photography as a hobby, I am at the point of wanting to trip over to Alton with all my gear to spend the day taking photos, I have taken some gear before, but was thinking about taking my tripod etc, this time, do Alton have any issues regarding the use of still photography equipment??

Many thanks

Andy

I'm sure someone will have an answer for you soon. In the mean time if you do take some photos please come back and share them with us on the forum.

Took my tripod and multiple lenses etc a ton of times and never ever had a problem from the staff, I carry the stuff in full view of the staff through the entrance, never been stopped or anything......other guests however can be a little rude and sometimes aggresive towards me when I am standing with my camera mounted on tripod focusing on a ride - some try to get in the shot, others try and knock it over (purposly going out of their way to get to the tripod) so just keep your eye out.

Pay particular attention to the Gardens and what you can of the Towers ruins, they are great.

Just a heads up, if you were planning on going into the towers, most of it will be shut off for Scarefest at the moment unfortunately. The gardens are still a great spot for some pics though!
