A crane in the car park is better news than a crane in X-Sector...

Went Tuesday and Yesterday. Loved the Smiler.

I found that the back row outside left was very smooth, would of been about 12ish.

2nd row outside left for the 1st have hurt, really hurt my shoulders, was like there was just solid steel hitting my shoulders, 2nd half was fine lol

My hubby and son had no problems with it. My son is a big fan.

2 little things that could be a problem, or cause a problem, in my opinion

1:- When I rode the 2nd time I forgot you step over the edge in and stumbled, I put out my hand and scraped on the tie wraps that hold the sign at the front in, I was lucky not to draw blood but could of done, not sure why the sign was tie wrapped on, or wether it is just that train, would be interesting to know. Its the litlle sign by feet in left hand corner saying to hold on, keep arms in etc.

2 :- and think this could cause problems when fastrack is opened, with disabled, fast track and single rider, you go down the same queue line, follow the edge of container before the queue splits into 3. whe I rode 1st fine, single rider queue was inside the container, 2nd time I rode, got round to the side of container and met a queue, luckly they had a member of staff (in red not smiler uniform) there and he was checking people if they where single rider, waved the sons red wristband and taken straight through, but could see this being a problem, if fast track and single rider queues get big. I myself if having paid fast track would be annoyed if single rider queue was big and waited over 30 mins, to get to split point to find no one in fast track, if you see what I mean.

Def a train still with wrapping on next to station

All in all brilliant ride, would ride it lots, although we have the disabled pass, we could of abused it but didnt, lots of the staff didnt seem to know what to do with the card, (they are meant to write queue time on it and then cant go on anything on card till that time gone) but lots of time just looked at card checked the name of person on it and then gave it back. Meant we could of got off and gone straight back on, we didnt we went and did some other rides inbetween, but still my son got to ride 3 times lol.

While its fresh in my memory. Anyone else feel that weird shudder near the top of the Vertical lift? It happens all three times I went on.

Yes.  Just as the train comes onto the radius at the top of the lift (i.e. while 3 of the cars are still on the vertical part of the lift), there seems to be a tiny jolt, like a small reduction in speed followed by and increase back to the speed it was doing previously.  I did think it was a little odd at the time, but didn't really think anything more of it.

I completely agree SWFCJambo. Nothing does this justice in pictures. When you are underneath the legs of the Marmaliser it is something else with size! Best themed coaster I have ever seen. Even the supports for the track on the pictures all look thin and weedy! But guaranteed you and a mate will only just about wrap your arms around them! They are really thick. Another thing as well. If you go down past the ride entrance you get to the cobra roll and batwing area. Stand against the fence there (directly across from the rehydrator) and you are about a metre from the track if that. And you really get to see the size of the track as your standing next to it. The thing is massive! Honestly it's HUGE'

The queue is actually about 2 hours right now, they're still testing...

Why can't they test at 8am?

Managed to get on it yesterday at the end of the day in a three hour queue...but god it was worth it! Honestly one of the best rides ive been on in the Uk for a while. One other thing. I know AT has been having some hiccups lately but the staff yesterday were really friendly, approachable and willing to help. Thank you alton towers

They've sent about 10 trains round, and stopped doing so! I saw them pull one back into the maintenance shed. But still looking no closer to opening!
