I was at the park Tuesday and queues were light for Oblivion, Nemesis even Spinball, But other areas like Dark Forest and CBeebies Land we're pretty rammed.. At one point Thirteen had a 60min wait, But Nemesis was walk on pretty much all day and got a reset late in the day so was running sweet towards the end!.

Obviously the heavy queues for family(ish) rides is good news for the park as it shows the recent promotional campaigns are working and the hotel seemed busy aswel.

Also on a different note I noticed some odd changes around the park...

Spinballs fence was double height.
Nemesis' waterfall was completely off
Duel was weirdly lit up to the point you could see all of the mechanics, strip lighting on the entrance to Duel and the spinning tunnel out of service
"Danger of Death" signs absolutely everywhere
Woodland Walk closed off

There we're a couple more things but I can't remember them right now, But we just got the vibe H&S had gone a bit mad. For example: Did they stop the water on Nemmy because it spills onto the path? someone might trip? Stop the spinning tunnel in Dues in case someone gets ill?

Just something I noticed, Could be nothing tho :P

When I went on the 9th the Nemesis waterfall was on, no strip lights on duel, also, only noticed 1 danger of death sign (excluding existing ride area ones by the rita queue) which was by the oblivion catwalk entrance...

Hmmm pretty weird, It was off all day, unless it was just broken? I dunno :)... There we're at least 3 or 4 danger of death signs on each ride queue, they kinda blend in after a while but there is a lot of them!... Just felt like the park was a bit paranoid, taking a little bit of the fun away from the likes of Duel for the sake of maybe 1 guest lacking any form of common sense!

I do se why they have put danger of death signs all around, with incidents at different parks, and the recent accident at cedar point, bu this was before that. As long as it stops people I'm fine with it.

It appears the Health & Safety precautions the park are taking have resulted in yet more high fencing.

The below image (credit to TowersStreet) shows a new high fence has been installed in Katanga Canyon, overlooking the ravine that contains the final section of the Runaway Mine Train.

What are people's thoughts on this latest installation?

That's been up a while, been 2 weeks since I last went and always go through KC to get to FV during ERT and it was up then. My personal opinion, its ugly but its needed. AT is just a vast nightmare of accidents waiting to happen, accidental or not due to the landscape of the park.

I'd prefer it if it had a space in it for photos, you used to be able to get amazing photos from there!

Well it is what it is, but if Alton Towers are going to have to install things like this for safety, I wish they would theme it to look like it is just theming and not done to increase safety in the park

Wait till we see a extended/overhead mesh on the Nemesis queue line, heading up to the station that is easily jumped over (if i wanted to plummet to the ground).

If they do that, they are ruining an amazing view.

If they add more things, they should at least have spaces you can look through without it getting in the way, they have added more fencing on sonic as well

Cheers, so could I buy a friends and family ticket at £18 and then buy a bounce back at £10 and another £10 day after that or do they only allow one £10 purchase? hope you that makes sense
