Gloves, not the foggiest clue.
Ear plugs is a simple enough matter. Nemesis and Oblivion are both rides which
A. Make a lot of noise
B. Stir up a lot of wind/pressure

By comparison, the other rides are much quieter and don't effect the human eardrum with pressure in any way.

Oblivion is because of the very loud music in the station. There's about 6 Bose cannon speakers in there. Obviously it is okay for guests as they simply pass through the station but the staff work in there all day so its for H&S reasons.

Well I visited for the first time for about 5-6 months, the car park was full by midday but as it seems to be the case at the moment, it's mostly families. I had all the major rides done by 11.30 taking my time.

The main thing I've certainly noticed (which I'm sure has been commented on before) is a lot of the new fences with generic ride area, danger of death signs.

I swear the HSE or management went round Spinball and went "the fence needs to be another half a fence tall", because that's all I can see, a fence just put on top of the existing one. It's so cowboy, but it works. :D

On ride times at the moment (on the AT app), Charlie and the chocolate factory is in the thrill rides category :lol They seem to make a lot of mistakes on that, unless catcf is now a thrill ride.

It could be a bit of both, with the elevator portion of the ride. Some kids might find the sometimes violent motion of the floor scary :P What am I saying? Alton Towers, you done goofed :P

Haha yeah they said on Twitter that they'll put it in the right place soon but it's fine on the ridetimes website. I wouldn't mind if they made it into a more thrilling ride though :P

Yes, they are considering my launched dark water ride with real elevator crashing through the roof as a possible future development

Replace the elevator with a tower of terror style drop tower, but the floor and walls are glass ;)

It may of been me being completely ignorant but as you head along the path as you enter Battle Galleons along to the archway to Hex. The long stone wall by the lake, how long has that had a fully enclosed metal fence around it? The other side of the wall (the lake) is still unprotected but I'm sure this hasn't always been there.

The new fencing was put up at the start of the 2015 season. Its believed that due to the age of the wall and path next to it, it has been deemed unsafe to visitors.

The fence was there last year when i went. I was told when asked it was to conserve the condition of the wall.

Not sure about Stoke schools but will be interesting to see figures now they are going back.

As of 13:44pm the highest queue is Air, Th13teen and Rita on 5 minutes, the rest of the thrills on ride times are on 0 mins.

Sligtly strange topic but has anyone been on park and seen staff on Nemesis where latex gloves?? Seems strange and how come they wear ear plugs on Nemesis and Oblivion but not Air,Rita,13 ect.... Always wanted to know!

All of the rides are checked for this, to make sure that staff aren't damaging their hearing. Obviously some rides have little to no background noise at all, such as The Blade for example. Some rides such as Rita and Sonic Spinball are loud, but because the stations are outside it won't damage the staff's hearing, although hosts and ops are permitted to wear hearing protection if they wish. Pretty much any ride where the station is indoors, however, will require the use of ear plugs. Oblivion as pointed out has the ridiculously loud music, and Nemesis is in like a bunker, which could do a lot of damage to hearing. It's worth pointing out that to work on one of these rides, staff have to attend a medical to make sure that their hearing is sufficient enough, and likewise to operate any ride you have to have sufficient hearing also. Health and safety, all of it. ;)
Sorry for the ramble!

To my knowledge it has always been played when the craft tilts and dispatches.
