I think 360 degree videos and photos are going to really take off this year!

I took a couple of photos on my last visit of X-Sector, Galactica and my room at Alton Towers Hotel. Facebook is also supporting the upload of these images and videos too!

I saw that. Congratulations, I won nothing on that!

I have got a Samsung VR headset (like those used on Galactica) and love it! Especially when you can take awesome Towers photos on Google Cardboard Camera!

Galactica Cardboard Virtual Reality Glasses Review

So after winning a competition on Alton Tower's Facebook page a few weeks ago, today it finally arrived after a mix up of addresses :lol

Here is the packaging for the Virtual Glasses:
Image

The parts included are;
1x Glasses Lens
1x Divider
1x Strap
1x Cardboard headset
2x Magnets

Assembly was relatively easy, although I struggled to do this on my own and I think 2 people would be able to do it easier as you need someone to hold things while the other person does other things such as removing the sticker backings and securing it together.

Here are a look at the instructions:

Stages A-1 and A-2 came already assembled.

This is what the finished product looks like:

Overall, I think this is a very good idea, although the cardboard starts to hurt your nose pretty quickly, especially with a phone inside!
If ever anyone else gets their hands on this, or any other VR device, I recommend the 'Cedar Point VR' app. You get to ride Valravn from your home!

Yes. You download a virtual reality app on your phone, or you can watch a YouTube 360 video I think. Then you put your phone in the slot as seen in the photo.

Shame that your phone really doesn't do VR justice, it lacks a high pixel density. Anyway, the Galactica Cardboard VR glasses are the same as the Mk.1 google cardboard. If you want to try it out yourself you can find, and purchase, various styles online.

My google cardboard looks terrible with my phone. You need the most up to date phone for it to look good, even not good enough

I have the Samsung VR headset and agree that this app is good!

There are some good apps out there for VR, but they are limited at the moment!

I'd recommend Zombie Shooter VR, by Fibrium, quite a good game, fairly decent graphics and a free version you can play over and over, but you can upgrade to get past a certain point.

Seems four teenagers were arrested on park yesterday following an assault which left one person having to be airlifted to hospital.

Does anyone know why the park is so busy this week, but was dead this time last week when the weather was better?

Sunday was well busy on park queue times not so bad but I haven't seen that many people for a while we even ended up walking to the main park instead of going on the monorail as that was a huge queue.
