Alton Towers were saying it would be back for mid-June, and it seems like it should be running again by then

Alton Towers have extended ride close by 30 minutes today to 4:30pm. They also extended by 30 minutes on Friday, which was originally a 5pm close.

Now we are creeping towards school trip season, I imagine we’ll see a lot of on-the-day extensions. I’d much rather the scheduled opening times were longer to begin with, but at least the Resort are recognising when extensions need to be implemented, even if they aren’t as long as many of us would like them to be.

Alton Towers have updated their website to reflect an increase in the price of Express Parking to £18.

Well, that's a bit expensive.

It looks like I booked my annual visit just in time as I pre-booked Thursday at the now old price of £16!

I suppose it is an opportunity to make more from it, especially with VIP ending. Not sure I'd pay for it, but it has been handy, especially when having a buggy with family.

So Alton Towers Twitter appear to be teasing something to do with nemesis as it contains the styled "s". Wonder what it could be.

I bet Sub Terra although the return of the red is probably more likely.

I thought of STRONG straight away. They seem to be becoming a little bit predictable if that is the case...

Another picture has been released on the Alton Towers Instagram.

Maybe it spells out to scare? Or scarefest? But that wouldn't relate to summer.

I think it will be 'Scary 8' and the challenge will be to ride the Big 7, along with a visit to The Dungeons.

What does scream mean though? They’re saying it’s bigger than the big 6?

It will be similar to the 'Strong' challenge from last year.

Thinking about this more, it could be that participants will have to complete the Big 7 and The Alton Towers Dungeons to earn a return ticket in September with access to The Dungeons, or they complete the Big 7 and earn a free return and Dungeons admission?

I expect it will be revealed within the coming days.

Big 7 to earn a Dungeon ticket could be interesting. With the push for everyone to have an annual pass of some sort, having the challenge give a free return ticket might not be the greatest reward.
