i had a good chat with the operator this morning before the ride was running and the answer to why people are not getting wet now is due to complaints and the way the water is treated with chlorine. :(

Apparently they're set to open on the 24th?

Off-topic PS. Avalancha opened in June 2002, with Colossus in March 2002.

i heard that the ride has 10 different sequences in order of intensity and its the operators choice of sequence dependent on the queue :-k

Well if u like the ripsaw in gut wrench mode (5 mid air spins) then take a look at this. This is a bunch of people setting a new guiness world record in germany on the ride called TOP SPIN. Same as ripsaw but no water. Over 100 spins. No joke

Oh my god, that thing is doing revolutions so freaking fast. I personally would not be able to handle that!

Does ripsaw have an automatic ride cycle? Im a ride operator at a local theme park and I occasionally work on a top spin ride, but we get to control the cycle, making it as tame as we like, depending on the customers reactions

Nah its not automatic they choose the cycle as well, the ride op yesterday said as we were boarding it is a water ride and you are likely to get wet.

Ripsaw has 9 different automatic cycles, which can be used whenever the ride op likes.

There are however 2 cycles which are not allowed to be used, presumably because they are considered too intense (one of them stops at the top then does 40 consecutive spins)
