They should do a slogan: Fear all grown up! They put an "age" after a curtain time meaning walk about actors throughout the park the no touching rule taken off the mazes and a much longer and more intense ToTT

I think the no touching rule is meant to protect the resort against people who want to claim for assaults and stuff like that, so we won't be seeing that go anywhere.

Last year actors were allowed to touch guests in both Sub Species: The End Games, and Altonville Mine Tours so I imagine it will be the same again this year, if both of those mazes return.

Alton have the tricky job of producing a Halloween event which essentially has something for everyone - from the very young right through to the thrillseekers. Last year's line up in my opinion did that perfectly - the youngest guests had the shows by the Freaky Four, House of Monsters catered for the young guests who would be looking to experience their first scare maze, the scarezones were the mild scare attractions, then you had ToTT which almost eases guests into the thrill mazes as it used the conga line format and actors could not touch you, then at the top end of the scale you had Sub Species and AMT which were more full on. If they can achieve the same balance this year then they'll be onto another great event :)

I mean, if there is a market out there that want this type of scare, why should Alton Towers not provide it? Just as long as they have something for everyone like Lakey said.

True I think Alton Towers are missing out though with the likes of Thorpe stepping up their game and other interdependent scare attractions

I don't think Alton are missing out at all... last year, Alton Towers was probably Merlins best all round Halloween attraction!

I know I can not comment on last year as I couldn't go to be fair, hopefully I can go this year.

To be honest, I'd also extend this to the whole country. Although, I do have a soft spot for the haunted castle at Warwick castle, as I experienced my first scare mazes last year, reason being that nobody who I went to scarefest with wanted to pay to get into tott.

Wonder who reminded you about that? ;)

I originally wanted them to bring back Mine Tours, The Boiler House, Carnival of Screams and The Sanctuary as an 'all time greats' type of event. Each maze (apart from mine) would see a 'warped' version of itself come back to the towers and I thought this could have been a great idea.

Obviously this won't be happening so maybe we will see characters from across Scarefest history in a replacement scarezone for Dark Apocolypse?

I hope at the very least we see some decorations around Towers Street! :P

I think that a scarezone with the old favourites is a brilliant idea, and more than likely if anything as it's pretty much confirmed that ToTT and sub species are back.

There was a comment about this being the 10th Anniversary of Scarefest,  but it's not factual so they wont be celebrating that

Halloween in a scare format started at AT back in 2002 and then had a few wobbly years until 2006 when Room 13 came to the hotel. Remember this was the year that had promised Tower of the Terrors III and Midnight in the Garden of Evil but got cancelled.

2007 saw the first of the rebranded Scarefest - so this year's event is effectively the 11th Scarefest

Check out our timeline feature with details of all the mazes and attractions

2007: Scarefest begins
2008:1st anniversary
2009: 2nd anniversary
2010: 3rd anniversary
2011: 4th anniversary
2012: 5th anniversary
2013: 6th anniversary
2014: 7th anniversary
2015: 8th anniversary
2016: 9th anniversary
2017: 10th anniversary

So it is completely factual that 2017 is the 10th anniversary of Scarefest :)

This is the 10th Anniversary of Scarefest even though it's the 11th Scarefest, in the same way that my 10th birthday was still my 10th birthday, despite it being the 11th time I'd been alive on that date.

It would be nice to see the park celebrate this, though it is indeed important that it's carefully marketed as the "10th anniversary" and not the "10th scarefest".

Basically It's all backwards and the world should end :lol

But in serious, ScareTour know their stuff so I would listen and respect what they have to say. My post was already replied too by quite a few people so deleting it wouldn't have made sense neither would editing so it had to stay.
