Heading down with wife and 3 kids on 27th. We are getting train to stoke the taxi from there to splash, does anyone know a number for a decent taxi company that will have a taxi to take us all in one go? And a rough idea on price?

The building which now has the No. 1 Towers Street signage used to be home to Guest Services before it was merged with the Resort Box Office of the start of the current season. Like many buildings along that side of the street it is home to some of the Resort administration offices.

Quite busy I'd say. All schools with be breaking up ; any families who don't read the Mirror and/or watch Sky will view this Saturday as the best time to go as the children will be out of school. Its always bad over summer holidays though...

I'd say a maximum of 30 minutes queue for rides. Also, for future reference, there is a "how busy will it be?" topic here http://forum.towerstimes.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=34678 :D

Don't forget to check Ride Times prior to the visit, I find this helps :)

Sorry, I know this is off topic slightly, but take ridetimes with a pinch of salt because if you are looking at queues during the week, the weekend will be busier than that. Also, ridetimes isn't well known for accuracy. I can remember being on park and it saying the biggest queue was 15 minutes, when in reality the shortest was 45...

Yes, apart from in Towers Trading, although that may have been removed since.

There are still references to The Smiler around the park in the form of spray painted 'smile' stencils on various fences and platforms. Some could easily be painted over, but haven't been.

I bought a pen set when I visited on the 17th... that included the Smiler but I didn't see much Smiler merch in the TST store (and I spent about half an hour in there looking for a nemesis 21 t-shirt that fit)

I bought a picture but I haven't been able to redeem the code... any clues?

Crooked Spoon

Wed Jul 29, 2015 6:53 pm

Hi!

Just wondering if anyone knows whether Crooked Spoon is open for lunch? We know they do breakfast and dinner but we read somewhere that someone had lunch there but we can't seem to find out from anyone. There's isn't an option to book on the website but we wondered if either lunch wasn't available or it was just walk ins.

Thanks

Marie

The Crooked Spoon is open for lunch, usually offering a selection of sandwiches and light bites :)

Alton Towers have a dedicated team that police the re-sale of tickets online, as it is against the terms and conditions of buying the ticket.

They will void any tickets that are being sold online if they are able to do so (visible barcode etc) so I would recommend getting a ticket through the official channels :)
