No it didn't, I very much doubt it will open for fireworks now. After the good publicity they got at scarefest they might not want the negativity just before fireworks.

So, after tweeting AT I found this:

Okay, so they have not finished the investigation, which is understandable, as it could potentially go on for much longer, but now at least we know that it will open once the investigation is completed.
I also noticed they said 'any necessary actions' as opposed to 'all necessary actions' which could mean that they've done all/most actions to prevent it and the HSE is happy, but the HSE could just be checking for other possible ways crashes/stalls could happen and are just checking it over? I don't really know but yeah.

Doesn't necessarily mention H&S investigation, and Alton have been doing their own investigation, so the actual H&S investigation may be complete, doubt anyone's really sure apart from those involved in the rides operation and high up Merlin staff.

I have heard it will open next season, exactly the same as it was. Pure enthusiasts and on park rumours, but that's what I think is quite likely.

One would assume so TH14TEEN, if the HSE haven't signed it off before March then there may be some underlying issues / major problems. I'm not fussed anymore, it'll open when its ready :)

I cannot wait to ride it when open. It was very unfortunate what happened and the general luck of the ride, but its a fantastic ride still!

My assumption would be that they originally were hoping the ride would be signed off and ready to go by now, however HSE wasn't happy with the modifications and wanted more to be done.

That would explain all the buzz around it reopening that didn't lead to anything. And seems pretty plausible to me.

Always good to hear how they're doing, love that they're getting on with life, they definitely seem to be dealing with the horror of the whole thing in a very pragmatic way. Shonky interviewer though, some of those questions, and the interjections...ridiculous, but hey ho always good to hear how the victims are getting on :)

Yes, and the word "sickos" is getting very annoying now. [-(
Life is a roller coaster. You can either scream every time you hit a bump or you can throw your hands up in the air and enjoy it.

Well, 'Twitter trolls are repugnant' isn't a catchy headline.

I can see why he wouldn't like people wanting to ride it again, but.. I dunno what to say, we know what caused the accident, if HSE deem it safe to operate i'm gonna ride it. It's my favourite coaster there.

I love the comments on that other article about people wanting to test ride it, sickos indeed! :lol

Anyway, copy paste articles instead of linking, linking gets them hits ;)

Lol it may just be me, I don't really care for an interviewer's reaction I want to hear what the interviewee has to say. If they're meandering fair enough get them back on track but ask pertinent questions and let them talk. (The "let them talk" is geared more towards the guy doing the Derrin Brown interview on the WC16 thread.)

I'm with Joe Pugh on not wanting idiots tweeting him stupid statements they think are funny. There's being edgy and there's being a p**ck. The folks saying that to Joe ain't edgy.

God yeah, looking forward to it reopening in the new season, lol I'll be right next to you Sawboss :D

This is just getting stupid. It is almost like Cassidy boon. Look her up if you don't know her. They are just attacking us for wanting it back open. I mean the people taking the mick on Twitter are not alright but sickos way to over the top.

I think the reason it's not reopened this season cause of 2 things. Respect and with only 3 trains available it would be a knightmare to open during Scarefest and the firework event if 1 had to be taken out of service.

Wait, if they're not opening it until the investigation is completed, it could probably be to do with getting the trains back, I'd imagine the HSE have said AT get the trains back when the investigation is complete. Maybe once it is complete, if it is complete by the end of the season, they will get the two trains, clean them up and strap the two halves together.
