Which is why I highly doubt Merlin would get a Maurer coaster unless they were given it for free!

As much as I agree, I would've said that about Gerstlauer after Saw!
If you go down to the Towers today, you\'d better ride Th13teen. :P

Saw is safe though. Haven't heard of people flying out, brakes failing, lift platforms falling down or cars splitting in half. As a matter of fact, most Gerst coasters are fine to ride and feel robust compared to other compact coasters.

I havent heard that happening to a X-Car either so why is everyone moaning it will be fun with lap bars
I have to say there was a sense of airtime on some of the inversions on G-Force so why is everyone
so annoyed by X-cars?  :)

I'm not too sure what it is but the throughput on a euro-fighter without a breakrun is quiet worrying

Obviously there is a break run before the second lift. The two halfs are about as long as the ones on the Japanese one I can't spell the name of. It's likely an X-Car would not have a markably better throughput, just a higher mortality rate.

Because your so obsessed with us, and adamant that this will be a X-Car.

And because it can be a bit rough, and the staff have Draytonitus.

John Wardley has said numerous times that he wont consider planning a coaster that cannot achieve 1000 people per hour. I cannot see therefore that this ride will get any less.

As for the above comments about an X-car. Maurer make the X-cars, see above as to why we should not get an Maurer coaster :P

I'm adamant this will not be Maurer, I just feel with my own experience on them that they're not comfortable, offer a rough ride and it seems the wrong direction for Merlin to take.

I hate stating my opinion here though, because at this stage anything could happen, for all we know it could be a new B&M Track prototype (Which is ludicrous)

this just remains a complete mystery based on the evidence we have.

In short the evidence of track styling, lack of vertical drop etc all point to this not being a gert. Yet the actually plans clearly state it is.

Personally, I still believe this is some sort of Gert prototype but i am prepared to be shocked

Gerst can make rides without a vertical drop, pretty certain no alterations would need to be made to the ride car either. It could also be Zierer, but again its a company Im not sure Merlin would look at, but who knows? All the signs seem to point to Gerst so unless there is reallllllly strong evidence to suggest otherwise, then Im sticking with them.

1 last edit I swear! Anyone know if Mack still make their E-motion coasters?

Do you know the angle of that first hill Dave? Interesting to know if it's near vertical or not.

For the Gerst launch coaster? http://www.gerstlauer-rides.de/assets/p ... lop09g.jpg

Close, but I dont think its actually vertical. Plus they have another launched coaster that doesnt even go that steep.

I'm certain this is a gerst, The planning application doesn't say "this assessment is based on Saw which is similar to the planned ride" which is the sort of wording we had in the SW6 (Thirteen) Planning application. It states the ride is made by the same manufacturer.

Also i'm just sure ;p

I also add my weight to this being a Gerstlauer coaster. I find all the debate across most forums frustrating.

I am also pretty sure this is a Gerstlauer. :P

There's other things that can be discussed other than the manufacturer at the moment.

Has anyone tried contacting Gerstlauer to see if they'll confirm it?

There's always the chance that it could be a collaboration, like the SW7 on the Air car-park was rumoured to be. :)

We need a banner to notify people about this... That poster was created by a manager at Alton Towers who is an enthusiast (and ex TTF member) who wanted to create a bit of speculation and have some light hearted fun with the internet forums... Its not to be taken seriously :)
