So, whenever we do get another update... (not asking but an grateful for them) what do people reckon will be done... personally i think everything will be finished and landscaped and ready for opening on saturday XD only joking of course....

Personally i think that the dive loops will be finished possibly along with half of the sea serpent roll :/

Would be nice to see some lift hill though

The snow shouldn't really effect the erection. It will be cold and wet, yes. But it is perfectly possible to construct track and supports in the snow. Any remaining landscaping will be more difficult but there isn't much more to do. The station will be worked on heavily now as well. I would imagine a roofed station with much more track up. And even some of the shop area will have walls and a roof. And of course more framework for the maintenance shed I believe.

More importantly, how do you know if it's on site, we couldn't see it on the most recent pics..
(I'm not calling you a liar, I'd just like to know your source)

Whats wrong with roads I wonder.... Why would they fly it over when normally they would just bring it on the back of a truck.... i dont suppose it is wider than a flatbed  If so this thing is truly going to be HUGE...... also dont suppose you got any pics?  :D

It's snowing a lot in Stoke today, can only assume there's even more on higher ground/Alton. I'd presume MI7 won't be able to fly today. Hopefully the weather will clear up soon and he can bring us some more fantastic photos.

Sky was clear when I passed, and no sorry didn't take any pics as I was solo, and you are aware that merlin studios is in Alton, so there wouldn't be any need to use lorry s anyway

No i meant surely they would put it on the back of a tractor and not fly it over such a short distance... i really did have images of a Chinook just landing in the towers to transport it over maybe 500m XD thought it was a little odd.... was the hub mounted or just on site?

Just on site wasn't mounted, I'm not going to start saying what has been done etc, as you will appreciate it more when the next update is done

Afternoon small people,
Wind is out of limits today, otherwise we would be up there! I have been trying everyday since the last update to get flying, but to no avail. As soon as flying becomes possible, i'll be up there!

On a different note, Saturday, be there, or be square! Never know what you might see...

So I went to Alton on Saturday thanks to John Lewis

Didnt manage to get any pics due to not being able to see much, but i swear I could see high supports at the front right hand side... but as i said, couldn't see much...all shut off
LOTS of track near the car parks...
May i just say, already...the smiler looks huge, the way it pokes out of the trees reminds me a bit of spinball, and it dwarves oblivion. I used to remember how when you walked around hex to go to x-sector and oblivion would just stare at you looking all intimidating... that isnt the case any more
