At least its some kind of news.
Good news at that. I dont think AT will comment now until they officially open the ride.
As for someone posting end of June I think personally this is highly unlikely.
I think AT will work quickly to solve issues and have the smiler open ASAP
You must escape........go...go..go

This is a very long shot but what if this was all a publicity stunt?
There's no such thing as bad press!
As I'm typing this I'm staring to believe it less and less  :D
Actually scrap that I'll try saying something useful!
My personal opinion before the 24th was announced was the 31st ever since may was suggested!
Fate?  ;) Will it open on Friday? Me thinks so
@LukeSavidge1998 I follow back so hit follow button! #getcorrect #excited

Bit random but just thought that this would be a very fun coaster to ride in the rain! Can you imagine going up the vertical hill with rain hitting your face directly on and not being able to wipe it off haha!! At least you'll be dry by the end of the 14 inversions :)

I know, finally!! Lets get TT back to the positive and fun state it was in before any of this happened! Whats happened has happened and there is nothing to do to change that but at least with have that fun and anticipation feeling again and can continue to see the finishing touches going on to this number one ride :):)

The Washing Machine coaster, go on wet come of dry, at last I think we have found the Secret Element!

I always knew they would be this element somewhere.
As long as there is Imagination in the World, there will be bigger, better rides!

I hate everything. :P

To add my tuppenc'worth, the overriding feeling I get is massive sympathy for the staff who have to deal with justifiably unhappy customers, and everybody who's busted their balls to get the thing open and working on time. It's not these people who are to blame, but because they're the points of contact and the most visible ones, they have to pick up a lot of flack for it. It's such a shame for them, and for the guys who'll work on it who are quite possible excited about working on the new ride.

The delays are down, as far as I can see, to higher-level decisions re contractors, design, planning and procedure, so I'd personally be more tempted to lay the blame at Merlin and Gerst's doors (if I had a better idea quite what I was talking about :P ). It's just a very sad situation that's good for literally nobody involved, and everybody blameless who has to deal with the fallout has my sympathy.

Long post, incoming, and sorry for the quality of the pictures, I agree they're not the best, but I got what I could and saw a few things today which I'll show you.

Top of the Site.
Image

Image

Most of the footers, if not all have been painted black now.
Image

The bottom of the vertical lift.
Image

The trains were stuck on the transfer track all day.
Image

Image

The hypotiser.
Image

Image

Image

Shop and the covers of the queuelines.
Image

315 minutes today.
Image

Workmen were on the bottom of the site most of the day.
Image

The Entrance.
Image

Water containers were in the cars on the transfer track most of the day.
Image

Inspection.
Image

SW7.
Image

Halfway corrected.
Image

The landscaping is nearly finished.
Image

Image

Cars still on the end of the track near the end of the day.
Image

Now 101 minutes.
Image

From the bottom of the site.
Image

I know It's hard, but remember, to Smile. Always.

Someone tweeted AT earlier asking whether they should cancel/change their hotel booking for this sat regarding the smiler.

they replied
"we'd say wait for at least a day or so, you can postpone anytime before your visit should you need to"

Sounds promising?

Oh man.

That does sound promising. Ever since the original delay whenever that question has been asked, AT have just said to consult the FAQ and that they'll happily re-book anything for anyone.

This is the first time they've outright said "wait a day or so" for more news... Very intriguing!

TV Advert schedules can be changed pretty quickly, so they must know these ads are going out and are happy for them to do so.
