I'm not saying any of it will happen, but it gets me how some people won't entertain any ideas which arn't their own. The entire point in a forum is to banter ideas back and forth. Now, just to get my point across, I don't think it would happen but after reading other people's crack pot ideas I made an educated guess against what we have infront of us at the minute. I don't know if you have read my post yesterday at 08:44 PM but the only way I could see of fitting it in would have been under the maintenance shed.
The point I can see in splitting the trains in the way I previously mentioned, was it would be a total surprise to anyone riding as this would happen out of sight. It would come as a shock to the system if they genuinely thought they were going to crash into another car. As far as the GP would notice a full train enter & exit the station - why would they expect it to split ? Mechanically speaking, it could easily be done with modern day breaking systems on a flat space, say the area under the station. Would be completely unique and never done before.
But again, I don't think it will happen....
I personally do entertain ideas which aren't my own, and joining in with the banter is exactly what I'm doing!
I personally really couldn't see any point in trains splitting and was asking if anyone could say what would make it good in their opinion, as it seemed some posts were just talking about trains splitting and rejoining without any thought for why and how that would be fun. The fact people think it's a possibility genuinely confused me as I can see no fun or thrill with it being a one track coaster, hence my post (with a little humour). You've stated your point which is the kind of response I was looking for (minus the telling off
) - I still think that it would not be a worthwhile thing to do even if done like in your description, I cant see the splitting and nearly crashing thing working effectively, to be surprising and fun enough to be worth doing. Sorry if it's annoyed you, there is really no need to be!
If anyone has other ideas as to why they think splitting trains is something that Alton would want to do, then enlighten me! I may still be missing the point
EDIT : In relation to the above post by youarecorrectsir, I do hope that nobody would think my comment is 'shooting anyone's idea down' or 'humiliating' anyone, cant see how that could be construed from what I wrote. I think people should suggest whatever ideas they like, we all have opinions and that's the whole point! I was asking the question 'why' and nothing more, which is totally fair. If anyone thinks a particular idea wont happen or doesn't understand why others think something, I don't think they should not be allowed to ask why. I just didn't get what the point of splitting trains would be. Peace
