No, this wasn't mentioned in the LTDP. The transit will be staying, considering they just spent a lot of money re-building the drop.

1st visit to the park on Friday.

Glad I got to ride this. Was surprised to see the signage up as nothing on the forums at that point then I saw it come up later in the day. Likely a retheme due to the short time periods, can't see any major other changes.

Does keeping the ride system mean they have to keep the circular tubs or could they change them for other shaped vehicles? Also, given its the anniversary of Roald Dahl what about a retheme to one of his books or maybe moving the Charlie lifts down to Chessington and doing that ride properly!

They'd either need to have very wide boats or to narrow some/all sections to change it from circular tubs. There'd be too much of a risk of the boats going down the drop at an angle which could be dangerous.

Anyone going on the weekend before the 6th or on the 6th itself? Never been to CWOA, so good opportunity to go there before Bubbleworks closes! :)

I've heard that some items from the ride are going to be auctioned for charity, does anyone know anything about this and when the auctions start? (I failed to acquire a Flume duck and as Bubbleworks has 105 ducks, I feel I have a bigger chance of getting one)

No date has been announced as far as I'm aware but if you want something then you need to place your bids via emailing " [email protected] " once the auction kicks off.

Did they ever do prints of the posters advertising fictional drinks they used to have in the queue whilst it was Professor Burps? Remember finding them funny/interesting as a kid, would be a shame if they're gone forever.

Its a "Bid to win" plan Justin, so whoever bids the highest for an item gets it.

I know that some of the bids have got into the hundreds. Even one of the smaller items is currently at £250 so I'm not very hopeful for getting anything :lol

Does anyone know of any cheap hotels close to Chessington? I really want to experience Bubbleworks before it closes for good!

Yes it is. I've got the bidding pack, but as some people bid, approx bids will be revealed as they will be either accepted or rejected.

Thanks for the info, alicheesy :) . That is me priced out on what I'm willing to pay for anything.

I had my last ever ride on Bubbleworks today, and although it's sad I am looking forward to what is done with it. I feel it's certainly time for a refresh, looking at how the original theme lasted 16 years and the new (similar) theme lasted a further 10 certainly puts into perspective how in need of a decent refresh the attraction is!

One thing I do have to say as a very open minded individual is don't judge whatever the new theme is before you've ridden it, go in with an open mind and who knows, you might be surprised!

The trouble is Owen, the ride has created many family memories, therefore visitors will have some kind of attachment to the ride and will technically greive for the rides removal. Many of the children who rode the earlier Bubbleworks will have their own children too, therefore creating more attachment to this magical ride.

I do agree though, all good things have to come to an end. Although a classic, it is time to create new memories with a new theme. Bubbleworks does need work, so now is an ideal time to do it.
