I have just come back from thorpe park, and thanks to some handily placed benches, have taken some photos of construction over the barrior. Sorry about the quality, but I was standing on a bench poking my phone over the barrior at the time

They appear to be digging a pit. Maybe the dark is underground...

When I went to Thorpe park yesterday there was still parts of the chief rangers carousel sitting around near the back of loggers leap where the old Canada creek railway passes by. could they be planning to pass the ride onto another park or even reinstate the ride at a later date?

So do we know that this will be a coaster in the dark or a simulator type ride? I would love it to be a Spiderman/ Transformer type ride that they have in at Universal, although with the apparent budget I doubt it would stretch that far.

Perhaps it could have a similar theme to Thirteen at AT?

Personally my favourite theme idea at Alton is actually thirteen, but it's not as well themed as it could be. If a similar theme was incorporated into this ride, the potential would be amazing a
Though personally I see Jack The Ripper, Doctor Who or something to do with the London underground/london

I watched a construction video on youtube (can't find it again) and saw a HUGE hole that went at least 50ft below ground (the view was from Colossus lift hill), it really reminded me of Oblivion at Alton Towers. Any thoughts on what this is for? Looks too big to be just foundations.

The building has a 3m deep basement. The large hole is for the foundations due to the land being reclaimed land it requires deeper foundations than some other buildings would require.

I need to invest in a Colossus lift hill walk just to be able to see what's going on there. When I went a couple of weeks ago, I managed to have a peak over. It looks interesting and back then there wasn't any trenches, so I look forward to seeing some photo updates if anyone else ever walks up Colossus. :P

Seen apicture online... Search thorpe park dark ride on google images. And there is a poster (not official) of a Call Of Duty Zombies shooting ride, think it might fit well in at TP. Although, it would like an SFX, Koka-arm or Gringotts style ride!! :D

Not sure if it's relevant but there's a new series on ITV starting this Autumn on Jekyl and Hyde. Seems from the trailer to have a similar theme to the indoor ride, and seeing as Thorpe worked with ITV on IAC who knows :)

Went to Thorpe park yesterday (2nd of July) and there was a good amount of progress. unfortunately i have no pictures i could only see it properly from the nemesis inferno lift hill but a lot of holes had been dug and concrete piles had been put into the ground to support the building! they were moving a lot of gravel around the site from near the colossus queue line to the area nearer the holes! also a lorry with a canvas over the back of it was around the back of nemesis inferno! it could be a secret or it may have been because t was raining at the time.
