There's a difference between a 'ghost train' ride and a 'ghost train' theme though. It might operate similar to a ghost train, as in it's not functionally similar to anything else, but I doubt ghouls and goblins and vampires and skeletons will pop out and scream as you go around ;)

Really getting excited for the ride now. The amount of marketing has been brilliant. Do we have a date for the opening? I wonder when the final clue will be released. Would be good if it was part of tomorrow's program on TV. Having followed the clues and this thread I think we are looking at a ghost train, which would be superb!!

I had forgotten about the statement "world's first" so went back and re-read the statement.

IN A WORLD'S FIRST DERREN BROWN THE MASTER OF MANIPULATION PROMISES TO TAKE YOU ON A JOURNEY INTO A DISTORTED EXISTENCE. PREPARE TO LOSE YOUR MIND WITH A PSYCHOLOGICAL ATTRACTION LIKE NO OTHER.

AT THE HEART OF THE ISLAND YOU DISCOVER A DISUSED WAREHOUSE. IT HAS BEEN CHOSEN BY DERREN AS THE PERFECT PLACE TO EMBARK ON A TWISTED JOURNEY WHERE THE BOUNDARY BETWEEN FEAR AND FUN IS STRANGELY BLURRED.

Reading it again I'm not sure if the "world's first" is the input of Derren Brown or the ride itself. I'm guessing the earlier rather than the latter.

The "JOURNEY INTO A DISTORTED EXISTENCE" does suggest me that there will be some illusion element - possibly via the use of augment reality.

If this were to be a "world's first" in the way of a Ghost Train, what could be the new element? Automatons are a standard trope, we have seen live actors before (Passage Del Terror etc), Pepper's Ghost illusions (The Haunted Mansion) and even the slow corkscrew over the corpse in Saw could be considered a "Ghost Train" element.
New Thorpe Park Dark Ride: My Bet For The Name = "Derren Brown's Ghost Train"

I believe they are advertising it as the "world's first fully immersive psychological attraction".

I think it will be an immersive tunnel themed to London Underground trains, and the story will include something to do with victorian ghosts. There may even be 2 tunnels. One being a journey out and the other being the journey back with some sort of show room in between.

This discussion is getting too far away from the idea of minds wanted, the brain in a jar and the one hooked up to that machine. Also the idea that derren is always watching "the silent observer". Also why are his lips sewn together if he is the mastermind behind it all... There's definitely more to this than meets the eye...

I don't know if anybody is interested but Derren Brown: Pushed to the edge is on Channel 4 tonight at 9:00. The programme has nothing to do with the new ride but if anyone is unfamiliar with Derren's work, it might give you some clues on what sort of atmosphere the ride could accommodate.

"A week of Thorpe Park PR begins. Meanwhile Pushed To The Edge airs tonight, C4 at 9. In case I haven't mentioned it enough."

On Derren Brown's twitter tonight. Maybe might start seeing some real clues.

Nope. They advertised Th13teen as the first psychocoaster, whatever that even is.. See The Telegraph for the worlds first quote regarding WC16.

Because hes keeping a secret?

Latest update on Thorpe Park Twitter account says we should question our [your] reality next Monday at 9AM.
Either the last clue will be revealed or the actual name. Or both?

Just seen this! Exciting stuff. We know Derren Tweeted "A week of PR" Hopefully it will be the last clue, I am not sure we will find out more about the ride just yet though, I would imagine this would come at the end of the month.
