I'm not sure how long this has been up for, but the following message has been added to the home and ride pages of THORPE PARK's website.

THORPE PARK Resort wrote:
This week Derren Brown's Ghost Train is unavailable. If you would like to revalidate your ticket for another day please email [email protected] and we will do so free of charge. Our engineers are working round the clock to get the Ghost Train up and running and you will be able to board again soon!

It's having quite a few issues isn't it! Worse than The Smiler maybe?

I've heard several negative reviews from friends which worries me that this attraction may end up following in the footsteps of Sub-Terra. But as ever I'll reserve judgement until I've experienced it for myself, probably in 2017. They should be able to iron out many of the issues during closed season hopefully.

When the ride works it is absolutely incredible...I do hope this downtime is Thorpe Park properly tackling the issues the ride has presented instead of botching it until closed season. :)

I don't think you'll need to, last time I went in the shop they had loads in stock.

You can no longer reserve one as they have been out on general sale. :)

Not sure how much can be inferred from this but the FAQs relating to DBGT as well as the unavailability notice on its ride page have now been removed, although the marquee still states that it is unavailable. Perhaps we might see it reopen tomorrow...

Related to the closure they were giving free return tickets as you enter, don't know how long they do this for depending on when stealth reopens

Yes, however the ride was officially confirmed as available the day after, the ride did open on the Thursday in order to see if it was ready to enter full operation again. ;)

Derren's train of unreliability closed again today along with Nemesis Inferior.

Letters being given out on entry to swap used tickets for AT/Chessington/Thorpe return tickets on selected dates as a "gesture of goodwill".

Feeling grumpy that there seems to be no good will shown towards loyal MAP holders. I can feel a visit to guest services coming on!

As always MAP holders are told to speak to guest services, they normally sort something out for you.

In regards to Thorpe handing out free tickets for two rides being closed, I personally think this is over generous if anything as you're told before going in that attractions are subject to avalibility, so really they don't have to give anyone anything.

I totally agree, I was surprised, but if they are going to be dishing out gestures of good will I think they should recognise MAP holders in the letter and offer something up front rather than making us beg.

I would think that they say go to guest services just because it's easier on staff, I do see what you mean but I wouldn't think they would do anything for the sake of bring awkward. :)

Was in the park at the week end. The staff member in the ghost train shop said the ride broke down after the first month. She recommends coming back in a year when it should be running by then.
Nice. 12 months and counting.

If there is nothing planned for next year then I can see DBGT being heavily promoted like it was a brand new attraction in its first season.
