Loggers Leap [Retired]

Sun Mar 10, 2013 1:53 pm

Logger's Leap has had the first part of its tunnel removed!

Looks awful in my opinion. Hopefully they'll sort it out!

That's the black material that blocks out the sun. They've taken the roof off during the closed season

Looks really bad. Would have been better to replace the roof.

Of course it would, but apparantly the budget for sensible things was blown on crappy gimmicks

I know this news won’t be surprising to many people but Thorpe Park have confirmed on Twitter that Loggers Leap will remain closed for the 2018 season.

@THORPEPARK: Loggers will still be closed for redevelopment this season.

As much as they say they want to keep Loggers, I really can’t see it now, which is disappointing as it was a log flume I really enjoyed.

Loggers is a fantastic ride and one I miss thoroughly, but you're right Dan, no shock to this announcement!

The park are still very keen to reopen the attraction. I know it seems unlikely to most but I wouldn’t be surprised if it reopens for next season as their low capex before 2020.

I really hope it does reopen as its such a fun flume. Would it be the end of Platform 15 if they get Loggers reopen? Or would it be a case of closing early like Rumba

It would close early, it's that simple.

The actual setup for Platform 15 wouldn't affect it either, contrary to comment i'ver seen elsewhere, Loggers Leap operated perfectly fine with a train running along that route.

I just wasn’t sure as last thing you’d want to see in a scare maze is people waving at you from Loggers :lol

That would be quite hilarious to be honest! :D

Seriously though, it would be good to get Loggers Leap re-opened as it's one of my favourite log flumes :)

I've not heard of that before. I know they closed it around the times the evacuation platforms came in, however, Thorpe Park has to decide if it is viable to open. I really hope they do as it is a great ride! There was the talk of an IP being brought in.

I've not heard that either. I must admit i've been keeping an eye on any Loggers news that we are getting as I adore the ride so much. its such a family friendly, enjoyable ride and I think I would actually cry when its time is up. I hate seeing it how it was last year, but I also liked how it looked as it gave it a bit of a abandoned vibe, which is weirdly quite cool

Some sad language being used by Thorpe Park Twitter. Gone is the usage of "under redevelopment":

The same language is being used in another Tweet. Sadly it's looking like this is the official line about Loggers Leap now.
