Look at the tags:

THORPE PARK theme Stealth Colossus Nemesis Inferno SAW The Ride Alton Towers Drayton Manor Disney roller coaster swing fastest highest steepest longest thrilling extreme adrenaline junkie insane intense deep throat forceful satisfaction summer sun scream tits jugs melons knockers boobs boobies innuendo implication spoof sex xxx shag bonk screw porn porno moan grown orgasm happy ending hardcore Keeley Hazell Britney Spears Jessica Alba Megan Fox Cheryl Cole Michael Jackson

I wouldn't think that Disney, Alton Towers or Drayton Manor would appreciate another Theme Park using their name in a video like this. And thats not taking into account the sexual tags.

Thorpe Park are a large theme park, and part of one of the world's biggest Leisure companies, you expect those kind of tags from randomers trying to increase hits but not from a company.

ok tags like Disney, Drayton, Jackson and Alton are not needed and really pointless but of the other "sexual" ones are neither here nor there.

Who is actually offended by any of these words:
deep throat forceful satisfaction tits jugs melons knockers boobs boobies sex xxx shag bonk screw porn porno moan grown orgasm happy ending hardcore

It was obviously a joke, its supposed to be unashamedly immature. There's no foul language really. Nothing you wouldn't hear on any comedy. If it was all Cs and Fs fair enough but its not.

Seriously some people on here will moan about anything. That has to be the funniest, bravest theme park promo ever officially made!

Yes maybe the tags were inappropriate, but who cares? It dosen't hurt anyone!

Whether or not the tags were inappropriate, it doesn't exactly give you a good impression of Thorpe Park. That's the kind of crap you'd expect from a 12 year old who's just uploaded a video of Rick Astley, not from a major company like Merlin. If you're someone who is less familiar with Thorpe Park or maybe hasn't visited before, that kind of unprofessional rubbish is more likely to turn you away than draw you in.

It's doing the job. It's flown around sixth form since I mentioned it this morning. (Seeing as our sixth form is going on a trip to Thorpe next Monday a lot of people are hyped about Thorpe and wanting to know all about what they will ride etc). More of the sixth formers want to go now after seeing the porno promo and especially want to have an "orgy on a rollercoaster"...like they do on the promo. They all found it bloody hilarious and i don't blame them. Our market age range would find something like that so amusing and we are Thorpe's primary market - as long as it reels us in, they'll do whatever it takes.

I have never really been on an insanely busy day but considering it's the summer and it's a weekend day I would expect it to be very busy. For example I think one can expect queuelines of over and hour. The trick would be to get there early and head straight to Nemesis Inferno and Stealth as every other son and his mother will be heading over to Saw straight away and maybe you could get a couple of quick goes on those! (This is just a theory though so it may not work).

I myself am going over on Tuesday and I do expect it to be very busy!

Thanks for that, I had already seen that weekdays are busy with school trips was hoping sunday maybe a bit quieter I can hope I suppose an hours not too bad it was just when I was looking through other reports and stuff people were saying 2-3 hours and i'm afraid that I would murder my other half during a queue that length :) think I will risk it though as I've wanted to go for ages as I always go to AT as I'm not that far away.

The best thing would be to wait until September weekdays, if you have weekdays free.

During September and early October, on weekdays the park only hit, at most about 2000 gate figure, often alot less on many days.

I don't have weekdays free usually on a fortnight off at the moment wanted to go during the week until I saw what it said on the website. I do have a week off in October but going away. I'm just going to go the other half will have to lump it

Yeah do go as you will enjoy it even if the queues are quite long. If you want you could always get a fast pass for the main rollercoasters and then queueing for re-rides won't be too bad then?

I thought I would mention that it is now exactly 9 years ago that the Great Fire ripped through Wicked Witches Haunt & Tropical Travels at Thorpe Park, both of which were Mack family rides.

RIP!

That fire at Thorpe was well before my time as a theme park enthusiast! However, thanks Dan I just spent the last hour and a half reading up the history of Thorpe Park over the last 10 years! I must say the park has had so much development over the last 10 years it is quite insane really.

Oh and didn't Colossus look nice when it was new!

Anyway, I went to Thorpe Park yesterday and had a lovely day despite the rain that flicked on and off throughout the day. The great news was all the rides were operating throughout the day apart from Detonator which opened up late morning - I noticed some techs climbing on it in the morning.

I must however reiterate my earlier point in temporary fences. The entrance plaza is ruined by them and now Saw uses them as an overflow queue which looks extremely untidy. [spoiler:2d5qng9p]As for Saw the blades were swinging this time around but the body was not spewing blood which was a shame.[/spoiler:2d5qng9p]

I didn't go on Colossus yesterday as the queue was full to the brim - it seemed they were only using one train which is crazy on a day that busy.

One thing I noticed was the amount of rubbish in the queuelines. Now this is not a problem with the park but with the guests. In the Saw queueline for instance there is a bin, no word of a lie, every 10ft or so. Now why can't people put the rubbish in them no one knows - there was rubbish on top of them, on the floor around them, chucked over the fences, everywhere but in the bins themselves. The place looked an absolute state.

One final point - Rush is absolutely awesome. Best flat ride at Thorpe Park.

I also got a very well timed (fluke) photo of Nemesis and Stealth:

Thanks, I thought that too but it'd be quite hard to make it the right shape for a sig.

Hey :)

Just wondering roughly how busy Thorpe is on an August weekday - I know it's school holidays so not expecting it to be empty, but just wondered in terms of queue times.

I should imagine it would be very busy. We went yesterday and the queues were between 60 and 90 mins. We actually queued for about an hour for loggers leap!

Just a tip - we got there very early so got in the park at 9.30 on the dot. We were able to do Saw, Stealth and Nemesis with barely any queue whatsoever. :D
