When we went we were told it was closed as the water level was to high so maintenance had to empty some first

Recent pictures from TP nerd covering their Fright Night 2013, shows a shot of Slammer which according to the caption is apparently being dismantled

Shame really, never got to ride it :/

If that is truth then RIP Slammer. Loved the high speed spin in both directions. It's a very intense ride!

False alarm people they were just adjust something and I asked Thorpe manager it is broken and will be up and running for 2014 season yay

We were in the queue, were just at the front, when some guy came to check the water levels. Took him about 20mins, and he came back "dangerously low" he mouthed to the ride op.

The ride was closed for the rest of the day and I haven't been since. This was in August.

So it's being dismantled but gonna be up n running in 2014, o my brain, I'm confused.

Yeah it is being dismantled temporarily while they fix it

These things seem to go on a 3 year cycle of small, medium and large investments. If they are sticking with that then the next big coaster will be coming to TP in 2015!

Yeah, it's just was expecting some form of new flat. Taking into account that some form of planning application under normal circumstances would of been leaked by now, and that we haven't seen anything worries me.....

In addition to this Thorpe if you are reading this: I really do love The Swarm and I know you're trying your hardest to please the majority of people who were not happy with the so called "lac of intensity" the coaster provides, and if from what i've heard you are deciding to add yet another theming element to the coaster for 2014, please think about the rest of the park first.....

And what really needs to be done...... e.g new Colossus trains, Slammer.... general park maintenance!

I didn't mention plans. I've been going by what Thorpe has being doing over the last few years... 

Can somebody inform me if there is any Thorpe downtime because I'm going in 2 days, but I know about the Slammer

Samuari failed to open when i went on friday 11th, and apparently it had been closed since... slammer is permanently closed for the rest of the season if you weren't aware.

don't think any other rides are unavailable on a more permanent basis.

I went in late August, and it was open then too, so I'm not really sure what's going on with it. I'm probably going to be visiting on Tuesday, so I'll report back on whether or not it's operating.
