Single Rider Queues

Tue Apr 08, 2014 10:17 am

I really think that Thorpe Park should add single rider queues. They did have one for Stealth and Flying Fish before but they have been removed since. Would you like to see Thorpe add single rider queues for The Swarm, Inferno, Colossus, SAW and re-add a single rider queue for Stealth? Discuss below!

They should 100% do so. One I'd love to see it on is Depth Charge, but that is unfortunately not practical :(

YES!, When I went, everyone chickened out on Saw so I had to go on alone. The amount of trains that went round in the two hours I was queuing, with an empty seat was ridiculous. Being such a high thrill theme park, they really should do everything they can to reduce queues.

I remember the first time I went on Stealth, I had just gotten off Colossus when my mum rang to say her and my dad were about to board Stealth. I ran to Stealth to watch an got into the single rider queue. I ended up in the seat behind them.

It would be great to have Single rider queues back at Thorpe as I used to love using the one on Nemesis Inferno in particular - I can't see them returning personally but if it did happen, I would be happy :)

All of Merlin's park (except perhaps some of the Legolands) should have Single Rider queues, they're just so useful.

Rides at Thorpe that I'd like to see with Single Rider:
- The Swarm
- Stealth
- Saw - The Ride
- Inferno
- Colossus
- Loggers Leap
- Detonator (Bombs Away! :P)
- Flying Fish
- Storm Surge
- X

Loggers Leap wouldn't work they wouldn't make you share a boat, and besides there's never a queue for that anyway :P

In the summer logger's Leap gets queues of over an hour!

That's Tidal Wave. The longest I've seen Loggers was 35 minutes on one of the hottest days of summer 2012. It just never gets busy.

Anyway, Loggers Leap single rider could not happen.

No I know which ride I'm talking about ILC, Logger's Leap. It was there last summer :)

I can't speak about last summer as it was closed on my visit ...

Either way, in my attempt to get this back on topic, I state that it would be impossible to have an SRQ on Logger's Leap.

EDIT: Although I can chip in that a Logger's Leap queue is often shorter than it states ... that 35min queue turned out to be 20!

Why would Single Rider not work? Every couple of boats add five Single Rides into the log and then repeat after a few normal queue people. This would then save having five boats with only one person. It could work easily.

Because of the way you sit in a boat ...

It's true, it would be really awkward having to sit in between someones legs.

A single rider queue would easily work for Loggers Leap and I often seen boats with only two people in! It would speed up the process and keep queues moving as fast as possible

Yes but that they can put two 2s together in that case, keep the main queue flowing, they can call down the queue like they do on Nemesis and Air, as you said, you often see boats with only 2 in, that means there's lots of couples to pair up. If they don't then they aren't rushing to get the queue through.

Yes 2s are occasionally added to 3s when it's busy

I think they should put in single rider queues but only on the coasters.

I think they should. Would definitely make queues shorter so I think they should.

Why only on the coasters?? The thrill flats would also benefit from single riders. All the rides should be independently evaluated as to whether they need a single rider queue. If its a popular ride with long queues, then it should have one.
