Despite knowing how much control DLP has over the European theme park market, it still astonishes me to see they get triple the amount of visitors as Europa.

The Disney brand will always get visitors in through no effort. EP also close for 4 months of the year wheras Disney are open year round. Still, Europa-Park are perfectly happy with their guest figures. I read not long ago that they want to reach around 5million but will be happy to remain there. They still manage to draw 50,000 guests on the very busiest days of the year, which is an incredible number of people when you think that the likes of Thorpe Park completely faulter with anything over about 12,000!

They have expanded from last year with an additional maze and the Ice Show. :)
I'm really excited for this, nice to that The Museum brings back characters from previous years (some of which I have only seen in the teaser videos which were quite scary). The mazes last year were a bit of a let down for me, but from what I have heard some of the earlier ones were amazing so let's hope it's back to form for 2010.
Ahhh bring on October!

LITILL ISLAND

From the English site at www.europapark.de:

It’s all about water in “Lítill Island”, the new water-playground in the Icelandic themed area. Young and old seadogs will experience pure fun between slides, pumps and climbing frames and enjoy all the pleasures of splashy fresh water with Hansgrohe products. At the same time, a discovery-cave invites you to find out more about water in a playful way.

Interesting general information about water and responsible stewardship of water resources show how important it is to protect and save the most important element on earth. Come and enjoy more than 100 adventurous attractions, fascinating shows and unique events at Europa-Park. Some splashy fun is waiting for you!

We would be glad to see you soon at the new water playground “Lítill Island” in the Icelandic themed area.

The new attraction will open on July 3rd.

:)

They have already started growing the field. Looked like a L shaped field, the size of a football pitch with a bit more added to one side.
