Whale Adventure is only open so that Iceland being open isn't a total fail. They turn of the guns and heavily decorate the boats, so it's very Christmassy.

The Snow Tubing is also in Iceland.

Blue Fire cannot operate below 5C, which it is for a lot of the time during Dec/Jan. Hopefully the Woodie will be open next Winter, though!

Ahh, everyone should see this as it includes the woodie and Bell Rock! We finally get to see what they look like on the map!

There's already an early version of the 2012 Summer map online featuring both Bell Rock and the woodie, posted by Cariba in the construction thread:

Well here's the link to the full map with Bell Rock on it as well.
Here's the original page which I used in German, whether Chrome's translation was accurate or not I don't know...

Either way if only it were cheaper to get to Europa Park *sigh*

I actually thought the original map was fake, but obviously not!

I don't get why Bell Rock isn't faded out, though. I presume on the gate map itself, it'll say
'Opens July 2012'
:)

I am really looking forward to this one, it is going to make the Newport Bay Club feel like a Travel Lodge I reckon. The Hotel Colloseo is one of my fav hotels in the world (though we love the Ling Bao at Phantasialand too), so it will be interesting to see what this one is like!

I have a lot of faith in EP. Of the themed hotels, I have stayed at the following:

Madonna Inn - California
Grand Californian - DL
Disneyland Hotel - DL
Ceasar's Tahoe - Lake Tahoe
Circus Circus - Reno
Silver Legacy - Reno
Luxor - Vegas
Venitian - Vegas
Del Coronado - San Diego
Wilderness Lodge - WDW
Animal Kingdom Lodge - WDW
Poly - WDW
Port Orleans Riverside (when it was Dixie Landings)
Alton Towers Hotel
Splash Landings Hotel
Big Blue Hotel
Disneyland Hotel Paris
Hotel New York (DLP)
Newport Bay Club (DLP)
Sequoia Lodge (DLP)
Cheyenne (DLP)
Santa Fe (DLP)
Davy Crockett Ranch (DLP)
Hotel Colloseo (EP)
Ling Bao (Phantasialand)
Bosrijk (Efteling)

And visited all the WDW, EP, Universal Orlando, Phantasialand and Port Aventura hotels out of curiousity. Of them all, I would say the German parks offer the best overall expereiences. On that basis, I am really looking  forward to this one.

It is. It's also the only GCI (or modern woody of any kind) I've been on. I still don't get why so many people fap like monkeys over woodies, but if Joris is anything to go by, this baby will be a brilliant ride.

You keep saying that, but remember if you think Joris is a good ride, and it was designed as a smaller family woodie, then this is much larger.

It really suprises me how you don't rate them much though, given how much you love the Ultimate. Many Wooden coasters have bags of character, such as TdZ, and have a very out of control feeling!

Keep saying this but get yourself on EP's and get yourself on Troy, you'll soon change your opinion and see what all the fuss is about :).  Troy in the rain is nothing short of astounding, heck even TDZ is ridiculous although a lot more brutal in comparison.  Still love it though!

It's really starting to take shape now with the track starting to interact with the other rides.  It's all well and good seeing a model, but to see it in the photos like this it really does show how huge it is :D.

I'm still not a huge fan of the rooms in this one, but looking forward to having a wander through hopefully at some point next year to see how it's all come out.

One thing that does accept me however, is the fact that "Lidl round the back of hotel Bell Rock" doesn't have near as good of a ring to it!

I'm not anti wood. I just don't rate it any higher than steel. It also seems rediculously labour intensive and impractical in this day and age. And given that steel can do everything a wood can, and then so much more as well, I simply do not understand the obsession.
Surely the Ultimate proves that steel can ride like a wood? (infact, I'll bet that if it was a woodie, there would be none of the love it / hate it debate!)

I'm also going to stick my neck out and risk a beating by saying that while this woody does indeed look like a brilliant ride... like all woodies I find the support structure ugly.

Lol, I have heard a lot of people critique the boats as beds, but I know my kids would love them!

Ooof, fighting talk Diogo!

My only gripe with this coaster is that it's going to destroy the stunning view of the Atlantica Super Splash area.
I find the support structures for wooden coasters can look quite amazing, and this one is no different, but I feel like they deserve their own area and setting. I'm not keep on intertwining them with steel coasters.

I actually don't mind the beds, the rooms just look a little sparse and bland to me?  I might think otherwise when it's built but it was just my first impressions from the pictures we've seen so far.

I think that is pretty typical of the New England Nautical Style - rooms of that design are sparse (look at the Newport Bay in DLP, Yacht Club at WDW, as well as real New England Hotels). So I still will prefer the awesomeness of the Colosseo or Santa Isabel, but I think this is a nice addition and is likely to yet again pwn the poor excuse for hotels Disneyland Paris offer.

Oh yeah it's all down to personal taste of course :).  I'm sure there's a market for it, considering the size of the thing and the success of the likes of Disney's offerings.  Can't argue with your views on the state of DLRP's hotels though ;)

I look forward to checking out these rooms next year, as I am a bit like Craig. I do think the hotel generally will be superb! Can't wait to find TTFs next Bar haunt!

As great as Joris is, this is like saying "Ben 10 is the only modern steel I've been on. I don't get the obsession with modern steel".

The best woodies are simply just better than the best steelies. There's a reason why they're separated in Mitch Hawker... because a combined list would result in woodies taking every top ten spot!
