Vallhalla has quite the reputation within Lancashire itself for being a 'thrill' attraction.

I'd actually argue that behind PMBO and Oblivion, it's the most famous ride in Britain. Stealth, Air and Nemesis may want to argue, but it's certainly by far the best known water ride in the country, let alone Lancashire.

Sanbrooke has uploaded a Dora POV

I'll say one thing. If I was working on this, the music would drive me to the loony bin. Hope it can't be heard from outside the ride.

The music is different in the station to the main ride - it's more like a 10minute long orchestral score than a cheesy song, and it's actually one of the nicest stations on park in all honesty! :)

You didn't already know this...? It's been as good as confirmed for several months!

I don't know what the big deal is, Goldmine was hardly one of Blackpool's better dark rides like LSD Alice, nor did it really have any historical significance like Ghost Train or River Caves, being built in 1971.

Are they going to keep the nifty Arrow ride system and layout? :)

I really wouldn't say desecrated about Wallace and Gromit coming to stay at Blackpool.

From what I have heard, it sounds like an interesting twist on a dark ride and it won't be some crummy storyline. All I mainly hope for is that Aardman don't create them as CGI beings (Like in the Xbox games) because the charm's in the gorgeous plasticine!

Just because it's not as old as Alice, does that make it less important?

Alice is a more unique theme. I've been on tons of gold mine/wild west themed rides, whereas Alice's druggy LSD theme is unique. It's also, in my humble opinion, simply a much better ride! I think Goldmine a bit... take it or leave it.

I really hope Aardman insist on a big budget for this ride, could it be the UK's best dark ride? :)

I just don't think it needs a retheme. What's next? River Caves becoming Tracy Beaker - The Ride?

That is a little bit over the top. I mean Wallace and Gromit is one thing Tracy Beaker is another. There are a countless number of things you can do with a Wallace and Gromit theme.

I love Wallace and Gromit as much as the next man. I just thing it's sad that yet another classic dark ride will be trashed. At least it won't involve lasers.

Gold Mine I think is the 2nd best dark ride at PBB after Valhalla it's a shame that it's being changed as I have a great soft spot for this ride. I am intrigued to see what this new ride will be like though.

At this stage, it is both likely or unlikely that there will be targets on the ride.. no-one knows 100% for certain yet, but if they do add targets, I hope it doesn't turn into the mess that is the Golden Nuggets shoot out at Drayton.

Too right, an inverting B&M or a Mack launched would fit the bill perfectly. :)

My immediate question would be where do you envisage the park having room for a B&M invert, and why on earth would they want to build a ride which (in most people's eyes) would be the same as Infusion? :)

No, not a B&M inverted rollercoaster, a B&M with inversions. :P There probably is a lot of space for a nee coaster, the chances are the park would have to sacrifice some other rollercoasters though. :)

As much as I enjoy going to PBB I really think that the place is starting to fall behind. Yes they have done a brilliant re-theme with nickelodeon land but the last major ride they built was infusion and even that wasn't a new ride. It was instead the truma tizer from south port when they shut that park. I know it's tight on room but there are other parks that have been able to build some amazing rides in tight spaces. PBB I think really does need some serious investment soon otherwise it is really going to fall behind other parks in the uk.

Is the Space Invader 2 building still empty? If they remove that and the hedge maze (I believe they're adjacent, please correct me if they are not), they'll be plenty of room for a coaster. :)

The SI building is currently home to the big pizza kitchen, and is rumoured to house a 4D cinema from next year.
